State Farm —
State Farm is very pleasant with smaller claims, but if it's extensive, they go to all lengths to get out of paying. Anyone considering them need to investigate extensively in all states. They have numerous court documents in different states showing the extents they'll go to to get out of the claim. Most involve trying to influence investigators to ignore evidence that points to State Farm having to pay, and only consider evidence that could reflect negatively on policy holder.
If you are firm about keeping State Farm, keep up on the best Private Adjusters in your area and call them BEFORE the insurance company if you have a claim. Your freedom, your life as you know it and your career could depend on it!
They are equal opportunity though, they treat their agents with claims the same as policy holders.
No matter how nice your agent is, when he/she is confronted with continuing to support his/her family or being fair with you, you're out of luck!!!
As far as recommending to a friend, I don't even recommend them to my enemies.
