The actual item is only about 1/2"-3/4" in size. You cannot see the details that look so nice in the photo. I ordered it based upon the web picture and was extremely surprised when it arrived. There was no way I could give that as a gift. So unless you are giving it to an 8 year old girl I'd keep shopping for something else.
