Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor —
This is a great investment to make. You can easily see if your baby is sleeping or awake. You dont have to run into the room on every sound since you can see whats going on. Alo remember that the volume in the monitor can be much higher than it actually is (common to many monitors)
There is some static noise with the monitor but nothing that is bothersome. the night time vision can get better than it is, I would install the camera closer to the crib/bed to get a better view at night
We have the main monitor on the 1st floor and use the portable one with us in the bedroom or wherever we are
