LockedShocks for a 2003 Saturn Vue

My son says I probably need new shock on front passenger side. My car squeeks some when I drive. I just spent $2350 for an oil problem. Guy told me it would cost $1400 and he kept going up until I had to pay $2350.  I also just purchased for new tires with alignment for $423.  Is this going to be real expensive. I'm on limited income

The Vue uses struts on the frontend, rather than shocks. Usually a strut doesn't squeek, it may be more of a bushing or balljoint issue. Hard to say without hearing it for myself. However, you can take it to your local Sears Auto Center for a free front end/suspension evaluation.
