Good Picture, Minimal Features

This TV does a good job of bringing in digital signals. The image quality is excellent. In fact, the PBS channels look absolutely amazing. The set also has an input for S-Video, which isn't mentioned in the description, so you can hook up your DVD player for a higher quality picture, although I can't tell the difference. Sound quality isn't bad, it could be better but you can always connect to your stereo, as it has digital audio. On the bad side, the menus are minimal and can be hard to read, the remote control is way too basic and certainly could be better. It's not always obvious which buttons to push to adjust the picture. This was the second TV I purchased as a replacemtn for my old one. I took back the first set, a 19-inch Samsung LCD panel because I thought the picture looked murky and very blurry up close. Also, the menus were way too complex and the rectangular picture seemed too small, as well as making peoples' heads look oddly elongated. For $200 less, the Sylvania does nearly as good a job and is probably a better choice than entry-level LCD's.

I_thumb_up Sylvania 20 in. Class Pure Flat CRT SDTV is recommended by DJH2008
