This is a TV.
It is not a theatre system or entertainment system, it is a TV.
I have spent the last 3 weeks shopping for a tv. I have learned that a college degree is now required to buy a tv. Or shall I say "lifestyle purchase". It has been a frustrating experience.

I purchased this TV from Best Buy. The power supply went out in the first year and it had to be fixed. It went out again in four months and the repair guy tried to get parts but could not. I tried two other repair shops and they said they would not touch Sylvania TV's any more even though they were approved....

I purchased this TV for my 93 year old mother for Christmas 2007. It has worked flawlessly. All I had to do was take it out of the box, attach the cable and plug it in. A couple of minutes of easy set-up and it's ready to go. This is not an entertainment center. It's a TV...and a very good TV. The picture and sound are excellent. The remote control is easy to use. If you want a simple TV that anyone can operate get this one because the price is great.
Don't know what happened (whether the product was damaged in shipping or not) but it did not work when it was plugged in. Waiting for the replacement to see if we actually like the product or not!
I thought this was a great deal for the price I paid. Easy to hook-up, good picture. Perfect!
Poor color,unable to adjust. Peripheral sound from set. Remote broke down and unable to fix or obtain from Sears forcing purchase of universal elsewhere.
This TV does a good job of bringing in digital signals. The image quality is excellent. In fact, the PBS channels look absolutely amazing. The set also has an input for S-Video, which isn't mentioned in the description, so you can hook up your DVD player for a higher quality picture, although I can't tell the difference. Sound quality isn't bad, it could be better but you can always connect to your stereo, as it has digital audio. On the bad side, the menus are minimal and can be hard to read, the remote control is way too basic and certainly could be better. It's not always obvious which buttons...

I purchased this over 2 years ago. It was $130. It has never failed me, always had the same perfect picture, great sound, very durable (I've moved a few times with school), same batteries for over 2 years in remote, love it that you can see at the very sides of the TV, I love the look, and when I got up to school I met some people who are now great friends who had the same TV! They are as pleased as I am.
I love the product and hope to keep it as a TV for my kids growing up in the future. Then they can bring it to school.

Purchased a few weeks ago as an additional TV for the bedroom. Good value for the money. Excellent picture, easy to set up , happy with this purchase.
Using with Comcast digital cable box.
Outstanding value for the price. has a great picture and sound for digital reception. First hooked up with special antennea for digital reception and didn't get much. Then hooked up our old rabbit ears and loop antennea and got all of our local broadcasters. All the features work excellent. Only things lacking is our converter box for DTV has a guide and a clock. These are incendental to the overall performance of the TV.
Right price, easy to set up, good picture for the money, sound is more than adequate for my puposes. No problems after about 6 weeks of use. Coordination with my satellite unit was a breeze.
This TV is wonderful and doesn't cost a fortune. My son and his father were constantly fighting over the TV and PS2 in the living room. This TV was the perfect pick for my son. He also has several of the plug-n-play games and the connectors in the front make it easy for him to interchange the PS2 and the plug-n-play games himself.
I bought this 16 days ago and I love it. Both the picture and sound are great. It's a nice size and the price is good too. If you're looking for a tube tv I would say buy it now. There aren't many tube tvs to choose from anymore. One more thing, for the few antenna users out there, you are going to love the digital tuner. The picture is so clear and you get some extra channels too.
My Panasonic 19" TV that I bought from Sears in 2004 that I liked so much was hit by lightning last summer. I was dismayed to find that it was no longer available at Sears. I found that Sears had basically only this model and the model with only an analog tuner available.
I grudgingly picked up this model and, not expecting alot from Funai, hooked it up. I was instantly surprised at the quality of the picture of the flat screen tube. We are very happy with this television. The picture quality is excellent, the sound is great, (our old livingroom TV had a muffled sound which we put up with for 7 years) and this is our first flat screened television. The remote control features are simple to use and understand and we had very little difficulty with the initial set-up. This is a wonderful television for the price. We recommend it highly. Incidentally, the feature that really sold me was the headphone jack in the front.
