I bought the "black" version of the same cabinet cabinet (SWBL48). It's much harder to find now than the walnut version but it's easier to touch up scratches on it (you can use a felt pen), and I actually liked the look of it better. I did have some difficulty assembling it. I'll pass on what I discovered in that process... hopefully it will help someone else:
The holes in the rear panel don't line up with the pre-drilled holes in the cabinet. Center the panel on the back and make new holes in the cabinet with an ice pick or awl.
Be careful when installing the cam lock posts. When you tighten them...
I bought this stand after searching a great deal to find the right one. This one that I have is very BLACK, and that was exactly what I wanted. I was searching for something that had plain glass doors with no panes or designs in the glass so I could see the displays clearly on my electronics as some stands have panes, or etched glass that can hide these things. I also did not want something that was open to keep the dust out. I was very surprised at the quality of this stand, it is very heavy and sturdy. We have a 50" plasma flat screen and it fits perfectly on this stand, I am...
read full review »Overall I found the cabinet to be easy to assemble with complete pictorial instructions. One suggestion is that on the back panel not all of the holes line up to the pre-drilled holes on the cabinet and may need some to have one or two screws started to hold in place and then re-drill holes to make for easier installation. Also if you own an electric drill or screwdriver by all means use it or your wrist will be sore in the morning, as was mine.
I spent $300 on this item and it was a disappointing experience from the moment I opened the box. Firstly, so much glue was utilized in the packaging that little chips and dust from the glue went all over my floors when I opened the package. Upon opening the very first piece was marred and the paint was uneven.
All hardware comes neatly packaged in a plastic container with a cardboard back. Shame that its impossible to remove the cardboard backing without spilling all the screws, washers and wood pegs everywhere. Good organization of parts, poor design of packaging.
Assembly is easy. ...
read full review »I recently purchased this Tech Craft TV Cabinet to accommodate my 46" Hitachi to replace an old stand. I decided to choose the Black cabinet to coordinate with the television's trim and speakers. AWESOME. It look so good in my living room.....because it actually co incides with the colors of my interior decor over all. It came in a box but it didn't take long to assemble....less than 40 minutes. Oh...by the way....the set up raised my TV up higher, which brings it up to eye level. That is another plus! Really a goodlooking Cabinet. Thanks for making me a "happy camper!"
We ordered and picked up the stand from my local Sears. The box was heavy and awkward, but my wife and I got it home OK. After unpacking the box, we found there was no assembly instructions. I called the store, but they provided no help. They said the stand was the last in stock and I should check their online website, ManageMyHome.com, to see if they could help. No help here either. However, I did find the company's (Tech Craft) website and they provided assembly instructions available for download. We got half way through assembly and then found several (7) screws and bolts were...

I purchased a new Samsung 40" TV (at Sears..got a great price AND got my Bing cashback rewards!) and needed a new TV stand to compliment my new TV. I searched high and low on the web and settled on the Tech Craft TV Stand. After more investigation I found that the overall price (including shipping) was about what Sears was selling it for! So I hopped in the car with the wife, ran over to Sears to look at it and was quite impressed. We didn't have a chance to buy it that day, so 2 days later I purchased it on-line with in store pick up. Yet another great experience. Got to the store...

I bought this online just by viewing the pictures on the Sear's website. I took a chance and it was well worth it!
I can't comment of how easy it was to assemble because my son did this one day while I was gone...came home looks great! I am very pleased with the quality and design!
Read the reviews, you will be happy!
