Can someone shine a little knowledge about this feature?

Apparently, there is a Lucasfilm THX Certified Display Program certification for equipment that can deliver superior Digital Signal quality sound and video.

This would be similar to a UL listed electrical device, probably not burning your house down.

Or, an S.A.E. rated automobile part (or bolt/nut size).

Thank You for answering this question. So are you saying that it's nothing to write home about and there are more important things to consider? I'm asking this because I have cart blanche to get a new flat screen for our first new home that we are moving in on the 3rd. I'm looking for possibly a 47" or maybe a 52' depends on what brand and either LCD or Plasma or LED. What can you recommend to go with a Harmon Kardon surround system with Polk speakers. Thank You for any and all advice. I'm disabled and watch a lot of TV. So I need a good brand. Thanks again :)

THX is a mix of high-end audio and video; for most people it's overkill.

I need a new TV asap what can you reccommend in a 47"- 52" and a Brand that would go with my Harmon Kardon Surround that's not hooked up yet? My 27" Sony took the plunge.

IM waiting for a LG 47LH90 ,It's a 47", seems the stores can't keep them on the shelf they go quick because they are a bit cheaper than a Samsung, a bit thicker but overall better quality pic with more pic adjustments. Check it out once you learn a little about it I am sure you will be sold too.

We're up to 240 Hz?

THX is mainly a higher sound output, if you are an audio freak then it is beneficial.

I'm quite pleased with my month old LG55lh90 with stand. It is a 55" LCD with *100% LED Backlit with a refesh rate of 240hz or 2.4 ( which is 60 cycle x4=240). The two speakers are 20 watt where other systems are 10(doesn't make a difference since you have a sound system). I got it on sale elsewhere for under $2k with 36 months interest free payments.

*Other LED TVs have Boarder only led Back lighting.

Sears Black Friday ad shows a LG 55" LCD on sale. It lists it as 55LH40, but in the picture in the ad it shows a 240Hz refresh rate which is the 55LH55. I'm wondering which TV is it that's gonna be on sale Nov. 27?
