Returned after repeated failure

The Weather Channel Wireless Rain Gauge —

First rain after I installed the Weather Channel Wireless Rain gauge it registered 27".  The last 7" registered while I was eating breakfast outside.  I re-leveled and re-installed.  I called the manufacturer and ran their test.  My results in dry weather were spot-on.  The next rain I got about 2/3 of the actual amount on the gauge.  Ran their test again, and it was spot on.  The next rain my glass gauge got 2.6".  All the local weather stations were 2.5-1.8".  The weather channel wireless got 1.47".  My conclusion:  It works well in dry weather, but is totally inadequate in the rain.

I took it back to Sears.  I got all the product price, most of the sales tax, and none of the freight.  So I'm out $5 and 5 hours.

You too can be sadder but wiser!
