I purchased these boots about a month ago and as a cable technician who is on his feet all day I have to say these are pretty comfortable. I think that they have great traction, they are water proof, and are a great buy for the money,(if you get them on sale). I have tried a lot of different brands and types of boots in my six years as a technician, and so far these seem to be the most comfortable boots I have owned.
I've always liked timberland shoes for their look and comfort and I recently started using steel toe shoes for my carpentry work for safety reasons. I like these particular shoes for their toughness as well as their comfort. I go through boots about one pair every other year because I really beat them to the ground. So far these boots are holding up to paint splatter, mud, water, sawdust, and an ocassional scratch from my dogs. Still, what kills my boots is usually all the bending and stomping that goes with my type of work and the seams are still intact. I just hope these boots stay...

My husband is a gutter installer, and he climbs ladders all day at his job. These boots are perfect for that purpose. He says they are very comfortable. He tried on many types of other work boots, and the Timberland Pro Mens Work Boot Expertise Steel Toe-Ever Guard Leather Hiker Brown #50501 were the best he tried.
Comfortable shoes....however, I have had two pairs in under 6 months that have both ripped out along the stiching seams and Sears refuses to return or exchange a faulty product.....sad....This is why they are going slowly out of business.....
