What is the charge for installing tires at an auto center. Please include tire disposal and road hazard insurance. I want to understand the complete cost per tire.

Hi mikesanchez, i work for Sears.com automotive and i would be glad to assist you with that. If i can simply get the year, make, model and trim level of your vehicle and current tire size, i would be glad to look up the exact cost in our system for installation on a tire. Otherwise, typical install charges are going to run anywhere from $15-$20 per tire and road hazard will cost an additional 10% of the cost of the tire you are purchasing. Hope this helps and please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you for shopping with Sears Automotive and have a great evening!

Quick clarification please on flat tires caused by things like a nail. It used to be Sears fixed flats free if the tire was purchased at Sears if the tire was fixable.  Is this still true? "Road hazard" was for the tire with serious non-fixible damage. Am I required to buy "Road hazard" to have nail flats covered?

Hi here2help,

Will Sears install tires purchased elsehwere?  If so, how much would it be per tire?  I have a Mini Cooper with 175/65/15 tires.

Thank you.

Hi MNR630, yes if you get a nail in your tire and if you had purchased the road hazard agreement with your tires, the auto centers will still repair it for free. If the nail is in the side wall or if the tire is non-fixable they will swap you out for a new tire.  Sears will charge you for fixing the tire if you had not purchased the road hazard agreement for your tires. We always tell our customers the Road Hazard agreement is well worth the extra money up front and will save you alot in the future, especially if you do end up damaging your tire as you will not have to come up with the full amount of the tire, which can be expensive depending on your tire size.

Hi pt2010, yes Sears will install the tires for you even if you had purchased them from another tire dealership. However since you did not purchase them from Sears, you will not get the lifetime rotation and balancing. For your mini cooper, you would be looking at  installation charges of $8.50 per tire, $2.99 for valve stems (non tpms vehicles), State fees (prices vary by region) disposal of $2 per tire and of course uncle sams share of taxes :)

mnr630 and pt2010, please let me know if you need anything else or have any further questions as i am always here 2 help! :)

Did they change the lifetime balance an rotation on non-Sears tires, then? I had my wife's tires (purchased through Tirerack) installed at the local store w/lifetime balance and rotation. Cost was around $11.00 per tire, IIRC.

Hi Dogdriver,  as far as i am aware we do not offer lifetime rotation and balancing on non Sears tires. If that store gave it to you, they werent supposed to. This service is only offered on tires that are purchased through us directly. Our manager for Sears.com Automotive was a Sears Auto Center manager for 25 years and as far as he is aware, it has always been this way. Its a basically a special "thank you" service for buying tires and having the tires installed through us.  Hope this helps~

Hi here2help,

I'm planning to replace my car tires, 4 of them, and considering to do it at Sears Auto Center. But before doing that, I'd like to know the OTD price for the tires, installation fees, disposal fee, taxes, and all (the final price, all included). The tires that I'm interested is Guardsman Plus - P175/65R14 81S BSW, listed at Sears website for $44.98/per tire. I'm living in Grand Rapids (MI), nearby the Sears Auto Center at the Woodland Mall area.

Thanks in advance.

I check this forum throughout the evening! Thanks tires4tires and have a great weekend! :)

Hi tires4tires, thanks for the reply back! Ok, i have verified this tire at your local Sears Auto Center and they are showing in stock currently in the Grand Rapids, MI location on 3099-28TH ST. Your total installation including your tire disposal, valve stems, balancing and taxes you would be looking at $256.87. If you wanted the extra road hazard warranty offered through Sears (definately recommend this extra fee) you would be looking at $280.87. You can go down the that Sears Auto Center directly first thing tomorrow morning and get them installed. If you go in the morning, they should be able to get you in and out within an hour. Tires4tires please let me know if you need anything else and i hope this helps! Thank you for shopping Sears Automotive we do value your business and hope you have a great weekend! :)

How about the

Continental Conti Cross Contact LX Tire - 215/70R16 98T BSW?

Hi Goldilaks, This is a very nice tire. I am currently running the Continental Conti Extreme Contact tires on my 08 Taurus and i absolutely love them and i live in iowa with all the snow. What you would be looking at for all instalation charges and taxes, you would be looking at  718.99. That would include your tire disposal, state fees, valve stems and balancing. These would need to be ordered in for you and have them sent into the Vancouver Sears Auto Center. Estimated delivery would be 5-7 business days. If you wish to order these tires, you can contact us directly at 1-888-819-6963, or you can Click to Chat with us from the Automotive Section on Sears.com. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to post as i am always here to help :), Thanks and have a great evening!
