LockedAir Tool - Nail Gun

Some nail guns show 16gal, 15gal, 23gal... does that mean that they are made only for that size Air Compressor?

I'm trying to buy something for my dad and know nothing about Air Tools!

Thanks

I haven't seen a gallon rating on the tools themselves. However, odds are that they're saying that's the minimum size compressor they should be used with.

Are you sure, though, that it's not saying gauge, or ga? That would refer to the gauge of the nails they can use.

All of our finish nail guns and staplers can be used with all of our compressors (or any in the market for that matter). The only nail guns that we carry that cannot be used with the smaller compressors are the roofing and framing nailers. The most common trim gun in the market is the 2" - 18 gauge brad nailer (18173 - on sale for $79.99), or you can cover everything by buying him the three gun kit (16853 - on sale now for $199.99)

The straight Craftsman Finish nailers use 16 gauge nails, with the angled Craftsman Finish nailers using the heavier 15 gauge nails.

Although, not specifically budgeted at this time, I'm looking at the Craftsman headless pneumatic pin nailer.

I have "a few" honing stone boxes that need getting made and that pin nailer would really help speed assembly along.

Unfortunately, I can not take a first hand look at the tool.

It's a Catalog only item.

Maybe an Internet orderable item, too?

Before purchasing yourself a Framing Nailer, do yourself a favor and contact your local Building Department to find out whether code requires/allows full-head or "clipped" head type framing nails.

There are two different framing nailers for the two types of nails.

Mine as well purchase the ONE that goes with your area's building code...
