LockedCraftsman Pro Tool Chest Warranty

posted on August 08, 2009 at 11:09AM Inappropriate?

Craftsman Pro tool chests suggest they have a limited lifetime warranty but how can one take advantage of the warranty? For example, a customer of mine has owned a Craftsman Professional tool chest (46") for about "ten to fifteen" years. One of the guide rails on the side of the drawer became damaged. The customer had the model and the part is listed on parts direct. Unfortunately, in-store associates are unable to order the part for the customer and associates who work for parts and service can't order him the part free of charge because there was no extended warranty purchased. So how can the customer get his tool chest fixed without being charged?

I would say, call the number located on the inside of the top, right drawer of any tool chest.  It lists the model number and the number to call for parts.

Have him call, or you call, that number and tell the person on the other line what they need.  Assuming they will know about the limited lifetime warranty, they should process it accordingly.  Aside from that... I don't believe anyone else can take care of such a thing.  Call that number - or even 1-800-469-4663 - and tell the person on the other end what the deal it.

Should be taken care of and that person receive the parts they need for free.

Who knows what they will say on the other end, though.

I believe the Craftsman storage products carry a one-year warranty, against manufacturing defects.

None of the storage units I've sold ever rang up with an additional Sears warranty offered.

The new line of Craftsman Professional Storage Units may very well have additional coverage.

However, I do not believe the older units carry such an agreement.

That being said, try contacting the OEM - Waterloo Industries to see if they have the parts you are looking for.

I hope this helps.

Craftsman Professional storage units have a Limited Lifetime Warranty - free parts.  I'm not sure about the older ones - but that is extremely easy to find out.

Craftsman Professional units have always had the lifetime warranty on them.  If all else fails, try contacting Waterloo industries (Customer Service # 1-800-833-8851 and Service/Parts # 1-800-833-4405) and they should be able to get you the parts to honor the warranty.   Good luck!

Yes!

Waterloo...

I got some brown-wrinkle finish Machinist tool storage units from them.

Excellent units.
