LockedTools Under the Tree

posted on November 30, 2009 at 09:31AM Inappropriate?

We have a bunch of new tools in the Sears Hardware Stores this Christmas season.  What is the tool you are most hoping to find under the tree?  I have the new 50" Bora edge guide/clamp on my list.  I cut a lot of 4' pieces of plywood, and this tool will help the cuts to be much straighter.

I've got a big Craftsman Tractor Lifter box that is going to be "near" the tree.

I don't want the box to accidently "crush" the tree, if it falls.

And, there's the Craftsman 80th Anniversary ratchet, in the Cherry wood box, to go there, too.

The tree, itself, is covered with Craftsman tool ornaments, from as far back as the 60's and bits of hardware.

I just got the store's last... 43174, Craftsman 1/4 inch drive, round-head ratchet.

Only cost $4.97.

That's better than on the e of Bay (after shipping charges).

It joins the ranks of the last Craftsman 1/2 inch drive, round-head ratchet.

And, the not-so-popular Craftsman 1/2 inch drive, fully-polished, teardrop ratchet.

I guess room had to be made for the new evolv ratchets... on the ratchet display.

A filthy lie! There is no such thing as having enough tools!

Are there Craftsman tool sets that still have the round head ratchets?

No...

The round-head ratchet sets died a silent death, many years ago, being replaced by the socket-quick-release buttoned Craftsman teardrop ratchets.

Of course, I managed to buy the last... 3/8 inch drive round-head ratchet socket set, years ago.

It came with a clear cover and was very easy to spot amoungst all the other opaque covered socket sets on the hook.

I whole-heartily concur with this statement, of never having enough tools!

Umm...

But, one can... run out of tool storage.

The purpose of buying tools is possession, not use.

Very true.  Creating jealous neighbors is my goal.

No, no!

Don't let the neighbors know what you have.

Then, they'll want to "borrow" your precious tools...

Yaa...

I might have a hammer around here somewhere.

How long can you wait, while I'm "looking" for it?

Are you kidding? I love to lend them out. Once they use them they are more apt to buy one for themselves. I like to convert them to DIY'ers!

And, if they hurt themselves, we're the ones showing up in court...
