The 800 series is a great laundry set.  It really comes down to what you want your wash machine to do/what features you want.  Besides the obvious of course :-D

I received my 800 series washer and dryer today. I hate them both and had I  known about the sensor in the washer i would not have bought it. I wanted a top loader so that I could open it to add detergent or more clothes. You cannot do this with the sensor. Design flaw.  The dryer has yet to dry my clothes in less than three cycles. Waste of gas and electricity.  The sensor in the dryer shuts off when the clothing that passes it appears to be dry. If you have items in there that don't go over the sensor while wet the dryer thinks everything in the load is dry WHICH IT IS NOT. Regret buying this pair.

Hi jor94-Welcome to MySears.  If you are unhappy with your set, did you know you can return it within 90 days for an exchange?  Please take advantage of this option if you are not pleased with your new appliance.  Sears will want you to be satisfied with your purchase, and will do what they can to find a better fit.

Nothing against you personally jor94, I just never understood why people want to open a washer after the cycle has started to add more clothes and especially not deteregent.  The sensor is not a flaw, it was put there for the efficiency of the machine.  Your salesman should have explained this feature to you so if you did not want it. you could chose another set.  If this is the case, then I definetly advise following the advice of returning and picking a new set.  And the dryer should in no way be taking three cycles to dry your clothes.  My parents slightly busted kenmore from back in the 80's doesn't even take three hours to finish.  Definetly talk to your salesperson about remedying the situation. Good luck in getting this resolved.
