Same as most reviewers, I'm the mom of a skinny, long legged little boy. I have had pants that give in the knees after only one wearing by my boy, so when he grows out of jeans instead of wearing them out, I rejoice. This is the case with the Toughskins. I have found that the blue denim toughskins sized 4 slim, 5 slim, 6 slim and 7 slim all have problems with the snaps. Either they are hard to fasten or won't stay fastened. These jeans are among our favorites as they have many of the important criteria for boys - great fit, snap closure, reinforced knee. They are also a great value given the amount of jeans we have to buy. My boys feel cool in the black color, as well.
All my kids are skinny. But even other slim jeans with these new fangled adjustable waists (which my eldest daughter did not have) fall down on my son. He is like me and all my other 4 skinny children. And long legged.
Look no more if you have a similar issue!
Also, these jeans have not worn out in the knees! I never had a problem before, I guess because all my others are girls!
My next problem is the last size is 7Xslim which is what he is wearing now. And they are getting too short. But his waist hasn't changed yet. Where do we go from here?
If anyone knows, please, please post!
I used to buy these for my son who is now 35, I gave them away to other children and they were like brand new. There are no other brands for kids that compare with Toughskins. They last forever..........I bet mine are still making the rounds. Buy them while you can, THEY'RE GREAT!
It is difficult to find good-quality pants to fit our skinny grandson -- we have bought him so many pairs of pants that end up slipping down on him. He's fairly tall and difficult to fit, but these are perfect, and they look great too.
Excellent purchase and well worth the money. I have had a horrible time finding jeans to fit my very skinny, long-legged little boy. Additionally, I couldn't find anything that would hold up in the knees. Both problems have been solved with Toughskin Slim Fit jeans. We're very pleased. He likes them, they fit, and hold up well.
Grandchild #7 is a jean shredding machine. He can shred a new pair of jeans the first day of wearing. Although I'm not a regular Sears shopper, I remember having to buy the Toughskin jeans for my youngest son who is now 28 years old. I see that the vulcanized knee pads are thinner now, possibly more comfortable to the wearer, and the reinforced knee jeans go only up to size 7, instead of 14 like they had in prior years. I also see that the elastic waist band option is no longer available in the larger sizes. After the first month of everyday wear, these jeans are still intact and looking good.
I'm a mother of three very active boys. I heard about Toughskins from a friend of mine 12 years ago and I have been buying them ever since. They are durable, look well, and do not cost much. My only complaint is that they don't come in larger sizes. I have a 6 year old who is thin but tall and the toughskins fit in the waist but are too short for him now. Please Sears add some more sizes!!
I searched far and wide for jeans for my oldest son. Levi's, Wrangler, Polo, Faded Glory... all to no avail. Either they were too long, WAY too big in the waist or both. And different brands are all sized SO differently. A 7 in Levi's are NOT the same as a 7 in Wrangler brand. And then I had my son try Toughskins. In a slim! They fit perfectly! It's very hard to even FIND slim in young boy's sizes. And to find Toughskins and see that they fit, was a relief, to say the least! Very well contructed and they look fantastic! The price is great as well. Why pay $32.00 or more for jeans that your kids...

I too had an impossible task in finding slim jeans to fit my tall, thin 5 year old. Toughskins are terrific. They fit perfectly and wear well. I only wish Toughskins made shorts for slim boys. My son would need to wear a 4T in shorts (and he's a 7 slim) to have them narrow enough in the waist -even with these new fangled adjustable waist bands. This year, he will finally be wearing long shorts. I took all of his Toughskins and had them made into shorts. It was money well spent.
My grandson is very slim and very active. He is also small and wears the same size for a couple of seasons. To my delight, he has actually outgrown Toughskins. The fit is wonderful and they look good forever. I always buy the 'slims' and he can wear them without a belt, unlike other jeans we previoulsy purchased elsewhere. He is really tough on the knees, and these really hold up. It is really difficult nowadays to find a product you feel is really superior and exceeds expectations. Thank you.
My son is on the slim side and these were the only jeans that fit him very well and lasted in the knees, because he is very active.
I am a Mom of a very active boy and these Jeans are great . Also the Kids club is wonderful for boys or girls who wear out knees in the jeans!
I have told so many friends about this program and the double knee jeans!
