LockedToys & Games - Holiday Gifts

What do you think will be hot-sellers for kids' toys and games this holiday season? It depends on age, but so many kids are really into electronics (Wii, PSPs, Guitar Hero, etc.).

Do you plan to buy any low-tech toys or games this year?

My daughter is 23.

Any toys will be going to me and will most likely bear the brandname Craftsman on them.

:)

There will also be the obligatory dog toys (if we don't want our presents chewed on).

A Guitar Hero Bundle is a great game to buy for the family to share. Boys, Girls, 6 year olds, teens, and adults all like this game. It takes some practice, but there are different levels and many styles of songs to play. These bundles come for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, and even Playstation 2. They come with the game, guitar controller, the game, and accessories to personalize your guitar. My kids want their own guitars, different styles, and guitar cases, so they can safely take their guitars to relatives and friends Guitar Hero Partys.Playing on Xbox Live is so much fun you can play with people from all over the world, Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs is an excellent kids game, it is like playing in a DreamWorks movie.I would like to see more gamers write a review, when they purchase games from Sears, a good or bad review, is always helpful. Some games are not worth $59.99 and someone that has played the game is a lot more reliable than a magazine or advertising that pushes an awful game.

My little one is 6.  We're trying to avoid as many High tech toys as possible.  At the moment she loves to read and can read on a 3rd grade level.  She just started 1st.  Gadgets kill the brain.  Look at me and this site.  drool :)_

I liked the Craftsman 1st Shop Vac toy...

It taught the little ones an important skill: How to follow daddy around, cleaning up the Home Improvement mess.

They had a wet/dry?  I don't remember that one.  Cleaning up after yourself is a valuable skill to have.

Especially when some Kenmore uprights are returned, after the holidays, with parts of "trees" stuck in the beater bars.

Hey...

How about a nice C3 19.2 volt, hand-held, vacuum for that special little one to play with?

Here.

Daddy will show you where to clean up.

No. No.

Not the dishwater...

Let's go to the workshop with it.

My brain is as good as it has ever been, after I done been posting on this hear sight.

:)

I think it has been watching the antics of the Blue Collar Comedy team that has triggered a regression in my communicative abilities.

Bean bag toss game - over to the Sports/Camping/Exercise area.

We're talk'n hand/eye coordination and soft bag, as opposed to sharp stuff.

Whatever happened to them Lawn Darts?

Probably a law suit(s)...

They have that too!

It's not a "toy" per say but it's safe for kids to use!  You can find it in your C3 add-ons next to the jig saw. ;)

Yaa...

Remember the old Black & Decker "Dust-Buster", that started the line of convenience electric vac's?

Well, that guy used only 3.2 volts.

We're talking 19.2 VOLTS here boys and girls!

The only kids in our family is my cousins new baby girl! So, I will be buying VERY low tech toys for her - perhaps a stuffed animal? Any cute ideas out there?

Yup.

My brother used Dust Devils to vacuum up Gekkos in Hawaii.

You don't even want to imagine what a compartment full of dead Gekkos smells like!

My teenaged kids loved playing Shocking Roulette... me, not so much. Basically, each player sticks a finger in a hole and when the music stops, one gets a shock (think it may have actually cured some of their ADD type friends too). For a family game, Remote Possibilities is excellent. Up to 6 players have a little wireless remote to buzz in with answers. Its one of the few games that can be played from all around the room, not sitting at a table and after nearly a thousand games, i don't remember hearing the same question twice..

They've got a "real" game that shocks the players?

Awesome!
