LockedToys for the 2009 Holidays

I know it is still early, but trends can sometimes be apparent early on!

Parents, what kind of toys are your kids asking for this Holiday season? Stores, any early indicators of Hot items?

Personally, I like the Moxie Girlz Art-titude Airbrush Fashion Gallery.  I think it's cute becasue you can be artsy! I wonder if it will be a hit this year

In our house, it is going to be Legos and Star Wars.

I have heard some parents mention a toy called Zhu Zhu-it is like an electronic pet.  Has anyone out there heard of this one?

How about a Don't Break the Ice game?

or

The good'ol Operation Game was always challenging.

And, for the "sophisticates", maybe a combination chess and checkers game?

We've got a transformers and hot wheels house ourselves.  Our new thing is taking the little one to the store and letting him point out what he likes and then take a picture with our phones so we don't forget.  According to our 4 year old ant farms are cool.  We've got some board games on the list too.

I've heard of a game but can't find it anywhere.  It's a timed game where an alien pops out and you have to put him together before the timer goes.  If not, all the aliens pop up and it makes a mess...anyone heard of it?

It might be called "Roswell".

It looks like Zhu Zhu pets are leading the "hot toys" pack at the moment. Maybe I've forgotten what it is like to be a kid, but I really don't get the appeal of these...

What does everyone think of the electronic hampsters? What else is the word on the street?

Somehow, my brother found one for my niece a few weeks ago.  She loved it for a week, and, now the newness has worn off.  I am sure she will come back to it soon, but she is only 4, and maybe it wasn't right for her.

I would be interested in hearing what parents who have kids that are a bit older have to say about them!

We've found out that anything put down "too low" is subject to removal and transportation through-out the store by little-ones, before a firm NO is issued, by a parent.

Heh, I don't see anything special about electronic hampsters, but according to most people they're cheap and fun...which is pretty important this holiday season (esp. the cheap part) :)
