LockedSnow Blade, wil it fit?

I have a Craftsman DYT4000 (Model # 917.275702) with 15 X 8 rear tires.  I am at a loss to determine if the Sears Blade p/n 24441 will fit.  The fitup guide lists model number 275700 only.

Isn't that a "2007" guide?

Ope!

The 07fitup file covers 5-digit tractor codes.

The 275700 and 275702 use the same 5-digit model number.

And, the 2441 accessory blade specification list Craftsman and Husquvarna tractors as target blade holding platforms.

Go for it!

In case you need weights and chains:  24434 is the number for your wheel weights and 24862 for chains

Thanks for the information guys.  I guess I should have memtioned that I bought the Lawn Tractor in January of 2006 although I am not sure of that is relevent.  I don't know if it is classified as a "low rider" or not.  It's a 24 HP tractor with a 48 inch mower deck and PTO capable.

I moved to Virginia is 2005 from New Jersey and thought I'd never have to shovel snow again.  This past December it took me 4 days to "dig" myself out from a winter storm.  My wife and I were virtually stranded in our house which is about 1/4 mile from a paved road.  I have a 32 year old John Deer snow thrower that I dragged to Virginia and I am sure glad I did.  The weather man is calling for another storm this Saturday.

I can almost gaurentee that if I spend this money I will never see snow again, but I am 60 years old and not in the best of shape.

I believe the blades are capable of handling up to 10 inches of snow at a time.

The blade can certainly handle a 10 inch depth of snow but can a 25 HP tractor push it?  I full size 4 wheel drive pickup with a V8 and full size blade can barely push that much snow any distance.  I beleive someone posted in the reviews section regarding this blade.  The poster lives in Connecticut and he was saying that he was able to handle a pretty heavy snowfall provided he made a pass each time the snow was at 3 inches.  He went on to say he had fun with it.  Some how freezing to death on a tactor seat while wind is blowing in your face is not fun to me!  ( grins )

Pretty sure you have an earlier model of my tractor (YT4000 24hp 18" rear tires). The blade that will fit your tractor should be listed under the hood. The blade model you identified is the one I have. Works fine but I would try to plow 6" or less at a time. Read some of the other posts in "riding tractors" "snow removal equipment" and tractor attachments for some tips on removing the deck and attaching the blade. Could save you some time.

John the Craftsman blade 24428 is considered "universal". Here is a review from a Cub owner:

<<IT WORKS! November 30, 2008

By Upst8NY of Holland Patent, NY (LAKE EFFECT SNOW COUNTRY!)

Bought blade in the summer of 2008. Attached it to a cub cadet 1046LT. Was able to use this to level out a stone driveway (loose stone) Without wheel weights I was able to push a full blade of stone. Just had first real snow of the winter. Was able to move 4" of heavy wet snow with a weight box attached to the rear of my tractor. The only problem was that it was missing a few parts out of the box. However I called the number on the owners manual for missing parts. Gave the operator the part numbers I was missing and they sent them directly to my house FREE OF CHARGE!>>

And, they got that cold weather tractor cab cover deal for snow moving operators.

Sorry, no heated steering wheel covers...
