be ready to replace several components if you purchase this bike. pros: disc brake works great, frame is very sturdy, rear suspension is somewhat stiff (which is good for me, others may not agree) deraillers work pretty good. cons: components are cheap (but you pay for what you get), brake levers are plastic and one broke on me out on a trail, front rim warped after i hit a stump (but was still rideable), required some tuning out of the box to run smooth. if weight is an issue to you it is somewhat heavy at about 40 lbs.
bottom line: spend a little more money and get a nicer bike
I have one and is great for mtb beginners.
