Hey Legends - It depends upon what your are looking for. Microsoft does have the lowest entry point for next generation consoles with their Arcade unit which retails for $199.99 but it lacks a hard drive to store digital content. Its great however if you are just looking to use the system to play games.

Microsoft and Sony both have 120GB consoles at the $299.99 price point that offer amazing media connectivity. If you are looking to play online and want space for digital content I would recommend the Elite console from Microsoft as the Microsoft "Live" online experience is truly remarkable for downloading movies and connecting with friends. As a counterpoint though the PS3 excels as a home media device due to the Blu Ray technology and can provide sharper graphics on exclusive games due to its processing power (this point is up for debate). This is not to say however that it lacks in digital content either as Playstation Network provides much of the same user functionality as Xbox Live (though I'm not a fan of the Sony interface).

Personally, as an owner of both, I currently cannot recommend the PS3 120GB more as it offers a tremendous value as both a home media device and gaming platform. The exclusive line up of games coming out this winter and next year is also something to take note of as well (Gran Turismo 5, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, Heavy Rain, God of War III, M.A.G., and The Last Guardian all look great!).

Hope this helps

299 is a great price for a sony blu ray and playing games on it is an added bonus for the ps3 but the "hard core gamers" seem to go for the x box. i only own a ps3 right now but im goin to get the 360 soon.

Previously I would have definitely said 360, but with the new price on the PS3 and the upcoming awesome game lineup, they should be a lot more competitive in the future.

I will say that I am a big fan of Xbox Live, but I haven't really tried the PS3 online/multiplayer features.

Like different kinds of similar tools, sounds like the ideal option is BOTH.

Why does everyone say XBOX360 > PS3? OK, 360 Fanboys, what does the 360 have that the PS3 doesnt? (if i turned this question around, i'd get a krappload of things on the list)

*I PREFER PS3, IT HAS Infamous, God of War 3, LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 1 & 2, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time (& Tools of Destruction) Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, and SOOOOOOOOO much more than an XBOX 360. 360 only has like 3 good exclusives. The Halo franchise, Gears of War, and Left 4 Dead. And those are all rated "M" for mature.

Mass Effect 1 & 2, Lost Oddessy, Forza 2 & 3, Alan Wake, Banjo-Kazooie, Crackdown 1 & 2, Dead or Alive 4, Fable 2 & 3, Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4, Saints Row, and Splinter Cell: Conviction.

And that's just to name a few off the top of my head.

Ps3 > xbox360

360 has subscription based internet, ps3 has free

360 are notorious for having hardare failures, ps3 are not

360 has about 2 console specific games, halo and somethign else i imagine

ps3 has about 20 console specific games

the 199.99 360 isnt enough to even go online, let alone save patches and udpates and game saves, so your gonna be paying 299.99 anyways, which is same price as ps3

ps3 has blue ray player, much better HDD and 100x better customer service, unless you speak tagalog.

I can go on if you want, but if yo udont know which is better than your not a gamer, so explaning more won't really help you. Just get a ps3 period.

With the ps3 you get the best blu ray player, free online which is just 0.1% inferior to Live, Playstation Home, No batteries for controllers because controllers are rechargable, 1080p Native and the best games money can buy

God of war III, MGS4, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, Demons Souls, MAG, White Knight Chronicles, InFamous, Gran Turismo 5, and more, whereas on the 360 you only get, Halo 3, ODST, Gears of war 2 and...Crackdown 2 and...well...nothing plus the 360 is such a sensitive console, you'll probably get RROD'd by January.

Mass Effect 1 and 2, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction are ALSO pc games, so no need to buy a 360 to play them.

Lost Oddessy and PGR 4 were horrid games they shouldnt be allowed on any list. Though I think listing games is just dumb and fanyboish, especially since everyone always forgets such excellent games on both sides.

Not to mention so many games being mentioned that arent even out yet and have no firm release date either.

Talking to you Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake and Crackdown 2.

I am completly on your side. i have an xbox and ps3 both online, i played xbox since it was first out, and to answer you question (What xbox got that ps3 don't) Alot of things.. 1. red ring of death 2. fee's to play online 3. easy overheat( i take care of my things) 4. no wifi built in plus more.... So to answer your question for the 360 fan boys, xbox has absolutly nothing that the ps3 does'nt, but the ps3 has got more to offer then the 360. maybe if the ps3 was still priced high then yea get the box but since there bout the same price please spend your money wisely
