Where can you buy a PC3? ;)

You mean PS3 (PlayStation 3).

Neither has the "newest hardware." They have pretty similar hardware, with pretty similar capabilities. They're basically PCs that have all their processing power dedicated to graphics rendition, sound, and game functions. As PCs get more powerful, so do the video game systems. In fact, the XBox greatly resembles a PC tower (no surprise, as it's a Microsoft product).

They two platforms also share game libraries for the most part, so you don't usually miss out on anything by choosing one system or another. Mainly, it's which system your friends have, so you can determine if you need one or another to use online to play against them.

Otherwise, they're pretty comparable.

ps3, free internet, built inwifi (no paying 90$ for a wifi adapter ****), controllers are motion senstive, meaning you can play airplan games by tilting controll certain directions etc. Must better game library and mroe exclusive on ps3, comapred to xboxs 2-3 exclusives, (halo, fable both which are on pc). Failure rates are about the same, xbox does have a better(faster) repair system where if your unit is not repairable in the week you send it in, they will send you a refurbished console. xbox360 internet is not free, but onyl about 50$ something a year, anything you purchaseo n 360 is linked to your online account so you have to be logged int oplay downloaded content (sucks if internet goes out) while ps3 you can download on any console any time and play it at your friends house.

PS3 is much better system for the money, much faster quieter, better video card, but it coems down to what your friends have. If your friends only have xbox games then theyll enver be able to borrow yours and vice versa. If your just some one who has no otehr determing factors for what you want other than worth, get a PS3.

Well, it depends on what you like. Both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are pretty solid consoles.

The XBox 360 offers more multiplayer features with Xbox Live-  and the Xbox Live ARcade has slightly more games than the PSN. You're also going to find some killer games like the Halo franchise, Gears of War 1 & 2, Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 (also on PC), and a lot of other Xbox games that are 1st-party exclusives.

However, the Playstation 3 has some killer titles of it's own, like Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big PLanet, Killzone 2, Uncharted 1 & 2, Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2, and the upcoming God of War 3.

The Playstation 3 also features a built-in Blu-ray player (PS3 games are in Blu-ray format), so you can't really go wrong with that.

I own an Xbox 360, but I will be buying a 250 gig PS3 soon. I would reccommend both, really- but for the most part, apart from the exclusive games to each system, they really have sort of the same library of games.
