i really love my debit card. in my opinion my debit card is better than a credit card. at least with my debit card i don't have to worry because all the money i spend i actually have. i also don't have to worry about paying all of those annoying intrest fees.
it's great because the one i have is my bank debit card so i just put money in my account are use money that is already in my account to pay for things. in my book it's better because no more cash in my pockets. instead i just have a little plastic card.
Debit Cards are definitely the way to go for people who are financially strapped during these times of financial woes. This way, if you have it, you can spend it, if it's not there; your bank sets the limit of overdraft and let's you know of insufficient funds and you can't spend more than you have in your account. It is not a Visa Card--it comes right out of your checking account, in most cases now, stores are hooked up to the banks for instant transactions.
