Vizio - 47 in. (Diagonal) XVT Series 120Hz Full HD (1080p) LCD —
I had been researching LCD TV's for months, and had my eye on this nice 120Hz TV from Vizio. When the price dropped a few months ago, I jumped on buying it. Leading up to my purchase I had read just about every review I could find online about this TV and the Vizio line in general. Most people either loved it, or else they had a major technical problem with the TV almost right away and had to have it repaired or simply returned it.
So far, this TV has not given me one problem at all. it has every feature I wanted in a TV, starting with the 120Hz refresh rate, and ending with the plethera of inputs I required for my home entertainment center. This TV comes with 4 HDMI inputs, Component, and VGA, plus S-Video and Composite. So I was easily able to hook up my upconverting DVD player, Xbox 360, and DirecTV HD DVR - all via HDMI, and I still had one more HDMI input for future upgrades. I've since recently bought a Wii and was easliy able to hook that up to the component input. I love the fact that I can run fiber optic audio out from the TV to my home stereo receiver and now I never need to worry about switching the audio input on my receiver.
The inputs can be renamed for ease of remembering what input controls what device, the smooth motion video enhancement is a nice feature to play around with if you want to watch video in a simulated "film screen" mode. There are more video and audio options than any other TV I have ever owned.
Overall, I am very impressed with the picture, the audio, and the supporting technology and hardware inputs available.
My suggestion would be to keep all the reciepts, original box, and items that came with the unit just in case you get a bad one, and need to return it within the first few months of purchase.
