Did you try PartsDirect?  You can usually get any type of replacement part for a Craftsman mower, if not, there is a substitution.  That is the best way, if that does not work there are others, but try that first.  If you click on the Sears tab at the top, then look to the right and there should be a tab for PartsDirect.  Click on that and then you will need your model # which is in your manual or an the actual mower.

Sears replaces only the entire engine and the engine has been discontinued. I'll try PartsDirect. Thank you for the information!!

Is this a Tecumseh engine? If so, PartsDirect is a good resource. Otherwise, Tecumseh has been sold off, and if you google for Tecumseh engines, you should be able to find who bought their small engine division, and that company would probably be able to sell you a tank.

If you mower is a Briggs & Stratton machine you can visit "their" site for engine parts.

I'm in the process of getting a little sheet-metal "clamp" part for my High-wheel trimmer beast.

We've taken down nearly an acre of black-berry vines, together.

Generally, the hinge pin is started through, inserting the spring in the middle, and the pin follows out the other side of the chute.

The spring is now "captured" with one end on the plastic chute and the other end on the mower deck.

You now have "springyness".

And, you secure the pin in place, of course.

An auto store may have a "tank patch" kit.

Ordering a replacement tank should be a high-priority, though.

need advise between front wheel drive and rear wheel drive which is better?

Rear wheel drive is better/ more expensive.

As the bag gets full, front drive units' front drive wheels slightly lift off of the ground.

Juan, rear wheel drive mowers are designed to climb hills. Front wheel drive is easier to turn and works on level or "rolling" terrain.
