How to attach pedestal to HE2 dryer?

We got a deal on a floor-model pedestal (15" with drawer) but its instructions are missing. I'm wondering how we will attach the dryer to it. Do we use the plastic levelling legs that come with the dryer? Or something else? The pedestal came with nothing, just the cabinet, drawer, plastic divider and shelf for the drawer, and it has 4 metal levelling legs. From what I can tell, the dryer has plastic levelling legs.

Any advice (or a pedestal manual) would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The manual should be at managemyhome.com. Click Manuals, then enter the model number from the pedestal, and you should be able to bring up the installation instructions.

Thanks, that's a great resource!

The pedestal-installation manual actually mentions two things I don't seem to have:

"4, #12 x 5/8" hex head sheet metal screws", and "Verify the 4 spacer pads are installed on the top of the pedestal.".

Neither is there, I can hopefully get the former easily at HD or similar, but I don't know the specs for the latter. Can anyone suggest what they are?

Thanks again!

I just recently had the same experience.  I ended up ordering the spacers (item # 8537982 at a cost of approximately $25) at a local A-1 Maytag store and purchased the #12 x 6/8" hh sheet metal screws (which worked just find and can be found at any hardware store -- i.e., Ace, Lowe's, Home Depot).

Actually, I would go back to the Sears where you made your purchase, explain that the hardware is missing, and they should order it to the store.

I have done this with the He2 machines that arrived without stacking hardware lately.  Well, actually, I gave the customer the kit from a floor model, and we replaced it with the kit that came to the store.

Sometimes these things do happen, stuff comes up missing, and we do our best to take care of customer's needs.  If it is in the instructions, and on the packing list, there's no reason why it should not be provided to you.

Just go in and ask!!

I'm assuming the floor models were 991s, which are sold as-is: If something is missing, the store is not required to pay for new parts when the item is sold at a discount because it is missing parts. The sales clerk would have informed the customer of what was missing and how to obtain the parts.

As for the spacer pads, thick foam tape or a cut-up sole from an old sneaker works just as well.

Thanks for the suggestions, yes I understood I was on my own to get the parts, though he salesman didn't explicitly say so. I haven't managed to see a pedestal clearly enough to know what the spacer pads should look like, does anyone have a picture or description (e.g. how thick, how stiff, etc.)?

The Kenmore HE2 is a Whirlpool? I googled the number sgosears posted (thanks!) and I guess it's this thing https://appliancezone.net/ShowProduct.aspx?ID=2627 there's a better picture at http://www.apwagner.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=112151 I guess that's about 1/4-1/8"?

I'm having my doubts about this dryer, the corresponding washer has really bad reviews (some good ones I'll admit but even if I double the ratings to account for the motivation of a bad experience it's still not great). Right now we're only getting the dryer (it's as-is but as it's not yet delivered I think we can cancel) but I've seen comments about a badly designed lint trap handle grabbing socks and stuff. Has anyone experienced that?

Thanks again!
