LockedNO PRICE MATCH

posted on November 15, 2009 at 02:50PM Inappropriate?

I went to the store to buy a matching dryer for my washer that I bought at sears. I have the LG steam washer with the round door. When I went to the store they were having a "sale" because LG came up with the new steam washer and dryer with the square door. I know that there's a different models, but 2 days early I was at Home Depot and saw an offer for the new one for around $900 so I figure that the old model will be less. The prices they gave me at Sears didn't make any sense so a made a trip back to Home Depot to check. They didn't have the old model to match my LG round door but they offer me the new one for $1071,60 with shipping, tax and installation. So I went back to Sears to check the same model and get the price match plus the 10 percent of. For my surprise the difference was $500 for the exactly the same model. They refused to price match because they did not believe me even thought I had the print out from Home Depot. After purchasing my dryer at Home Depot I went to the store to show them my invoice and ask for the store manager to please give me a call. 4 month later still waiting for the call. So be aware of Sears and do your homework before you buy and don't trust any of the store advertisement. Hope this will help somebody.

Same thinf happened to me. I was at Home Depot and they had the washer and dryer on clearence for $797.00 each. The only thing was they had to order it from there wharehouse because they were out of stock and the units would not arrive for 2 weeks. The lady at home depot gave me a price print out of everything out the door. With tax it came to $1,705.60 and that was with free set up and delivery. I went to Sears with the print out showing the model numbers and price quoted and they refused to even match anything even though they had stated to me that they do match prices. They had the units in stock but wanted $999.00 for each unit. I told the lady at Sears that since they want to false advertise their price matching, I will no longer be shopping at their stores any longer! I also plan on calling their corporate office to lodge a complaint and am considering write the BBB because of their business practices. This also has not been my first issue with Sears.

If they were not the EXACT same model, there will be no bargain.

Seriously, though, what model were you looking at?

No store will price match clearance prices. Not Home Depot, not Lowe's, not Sears, not anybody. The price match policy clearly states that this is not allowed, and every retailer with a price match policy has the same rule regarding clearance prices. If you do actually call the National Customer Relations line, they will tell you exactly the same thing.

I am not talking about clearance prices. Sears is not a good company because this is not the only problem I had, at this moment still waiting for a dishwasher that I bought 2 weeks ago. Customer service, bad, sales representatives bad, they don't even know what they are selling.I had 1 installed and was doa. So don't came up with lame excuses.

And this comment is not for you guys to defend the company this is for people to be aware and be careful because any of us has time or money to waist and when we buy big things we do it because we need them. So take all the time you have in your hands and do something more productive.

Their Price Match Policy-Does not honor any "clearance" items-the presumption is, it is a closeout model and / or it's got to be in stock for delivery.

Maybe you should cancel your order if you are so distraught w/ Sears?   it's less than 30 days that your original appliance broke down and now you cannot get a replacement in time to your satisfaction. Perhaps opt out for another similar model tht is in stock if the store cannot get replacement to you quick enough -

Ok number one, this is an open forum. Anyone can post what ever they want. What is the use of having a forum if all you are going to allow are idiots like you that just want something to complain about. It is like someone puts it to you then you decide to just make up something to down Sears and sears Homestores?  Get a life, do you have nothing better to do than to sit at home all day and complain about stuff?  NOT ONE COMPANY OUT THERE WILL PRICE MATCH A SALE OR CLEARANCE ITEM, NOT EVEN WAL-MART!!!!  If you were buying a steam washer that was an older model from Home Depot then yes of course you are going to get a good price.  Sorry Sears tries to keep up with the times and carry models that are the newest and on the edge of technology.  HomeDepot will get outdated models from these Rent-To-Own places and clean them up then sell them to you as BRAND NEW!!!  I know!! I bought a BRAND NEW "scratch and dent" Bosch washer and dryer from Lowes in 2005(great price).  About two weeks into regular use the dryer stops working, Lowes refuses to send their repair crew out to look at it, so I called in a professional repair man.  When he got there and started looking at the dryer he said wow this is a clean dreyer considering it is 3 years old.  I asked what he just said and he repeated that it was a 3 year old dryer, I told him it was brand new and I had just bought it, then he started showing me parts and pieces that he had for the dryer and those parts and pieces were not even there on my AS ADVERTISED ON THE WASHER AND DRYER BRAND NEW SCRATCH AND DENT.  Then he opened it up and told me that it looks like the dryer had been in use for at least 2 years because of the wear and tear on the machine.  So I called Lowes and they denied everything. So I had my attorney call Lowes and shortly there after Lowes management called me at home and asked if I would like a refund. Then appologized. That PROVED to me that Lowes and Home Depot are out to steal your money, so sorry if Sears Homestores owners or Sears managers are not as gullible as you.   Oh and maybe you should take some English courses because when waste time and you put a belt on your waist. So if you want to save your money by buying an outdated and used appliance go to Lowes or Home Depot then you can replace it in 2 years.  Or you can shop at Sears Homestores and buy NEW, up to date, cutting edge products that last a lifetime.

HomeDepot = Rip you off with crumby goods Warehouse store.....does warehouse store sound familiar to you? Sounds like one of those guys that come in their vans and sell goods out of the back of it and are long gone before you know you got ripped off.

Sears = Been around forever, NOT RETAIL, Sears is not even close to retail, maybe the clothes, none of the Appliances, Lawn and garden, Electronics.  Sears prices are always competetive with any other place.....Also if you find the EXACT same model at Home Depot or Lowes, they will cost the same.....But you will not find the EXACT same models there because they carry junk that they get for way CHEAP!!!!!

I don't know what you guys been reading. I am talking about the new model, that was not even on sale,  and yes Sears carry the same model. Like you said this is an open forum and yes I don't have the time, but every time I am on the phone waiting for custumer service to answer my call I have the time to browse the internet, and as you see is a lot.
I just want people to reaserch and be aware that not all that Sears advertise is true or will work out at the end...

You are not helping. You are posting information that is inaccurate, inflammatory, and insulting.

Sears does match and beat sale prices. Sears, and all other retailers, do not price match clearance/closeout prices.

You can most definitely find the exact same models of appliances and electronics at other retailers.

There is no need to call people names. There is no need to run down other retailers. Home Depot runs a perfectly fine store, as do Lowe's and Best Buy, selling perfectly good products.

With prices being competitive, and with our price match plus policy, Sears differentiates itself with better service, better selection, and more knowledgeable sales staff.

On November 17, 2009, I purchased a Kenmore Electric Dryer at the Sears Outlet Store - Model No. 796.8884.   The sales associate told me this dryer was made in 2008 and it is the 800 series.    I cannot find this model number on line and do not know if the sales associate is feeding me a line.   Why is my Kenmore Electri Dryer not listed on line and is the info I was given corret.

Hello, can we as a comission only salaried associates price match Sears on line. On this last Sunday, the friends and family promo was all day and all night. Our system was loaded for the extra 10% a little before 6pm until 9pm. It does not seem ethical that we have to compete with our own company. They should have just paid us benefit rate from 12-6pm. Thank you

Hi guinnie-Welcome to MySears.  You may want to check www.managemyhome.com.  The owner's manual will be on that site, and should have the information you are looking for.

If you click "Reply" above someone's post, the post you make will address who you're speaking to, and the time of the post that you're commenting on. You'll see that my posts mention that in grey text at the top of the text box. I hope that helps you understand who I'm speaking to in my posts (and other people, too).

The model you bought has been discontinued as of about 3 weeks ago. That's why you can't find it on sears.com. We still have ours on the salesfloor at our store, but it's on its way out. I can assure you it's a recent model. LG still sells its branded version of this dryer, and there may be a new version of it coming under the Kenmore label next year.

You can't price match sears.com prices for F&F event pricing. Special event pricing is never subject to price matching. And, sears.com accounts for only about 1% of appliance sales for Sears annually. The all-day pricing was an experiment to test customer interest in a longer spanning event that may eventually be rolled out to all stores.

Sears says they price match but Best Buy had a Maytag washer that was marked $65 less than Sears.Sears told me that they would NOT price match because Best Buy did NOT have the same washer in the store but had to order it.Well,Sears did NOT have the washer on their floor either,They also had to order it.Sounds like double speak to me.
