Are there any stimulus packages/rebates out there right now for purchasing an Energy Star washer & dryer?  What model uses the least amount of water?  I wash approx. 7 pair jeans a week, so I don't need anything super huge.

Thanks!

There will be no offers on dryers as far as I know.

The chances of an EnergyStar dryer, are about as good as Satan being in a snowball fight.

This is a good place to sign up for EnergyStar offers in your area:

Apparently, posting functioning links still does not work on this site, so, I had to delete the letter "h" at the beginning of the link.  Please add it when you cut and paste the link.

DONT I repeat dont get a front loader at Sears. Im having nothing but problems, their solution buy a warranty AFTER you make thier $600+ repair. Thought I was getting a SEARS product. WE are second generatio Sears customers...NO MORE, This baby boomer was happy to reach for a brand new matching modern Sears washer & drier, wow what a RUDE awakening. After third appointment tech played with circuits and came THEN a new code came up and he announced that my pocket would be $600 lighter and with ONLY 90 on that part....Where did the American Sears & Roebuck go...probably to India where they can not even speak English....so disgusted..byebye Sears....I'm sorry we furnished our home with thousands of dollars  Sears products (several plasma/LCD TVs, Stove, Refer, Washer, Drier, vacuum,. phones, weed eater, blower, blah blah blah. NO MORE not a penny.

I should have stayed with my second hand $125 used top load at least I never had a problem with that old DEPENDABLE washer.

Hi LoyaltyDuped-Welcome to MySears. I am sorry to hear of the issues you have had with your appliances.  What brand did you buy? How old is your washer?  Did you have issues with both appliances?

I know Sears offers that warranty to ensure you will receive the service needed on any appliance, and not have to spend too much in the event of a problem.  This does, often, make it a good investment.

I researched this question myself before purchasing a new washer & dryer.  My final decision was based on Consumer Reports ratings and numerous discussion sites.  We have heavy usage as well.  I went for it and finally purchased LG Front Loaders with storage drawers underneath.  Washer LG Model WM2688 and Dryer LG Model DLEX8377.  I've never been sorry.  Best advice:  On the washer, always wipe out door seal after a day's use, AND leave the door open to dry!  Never leave a load in the washer for an extended peroid (overnight) as you will get a musty odor.  (Unlike top-loaders, the door on front loaders seals 100% tight.)  The LG has a clean tub cycle in case you forget!  You can rewash a load if it developed an odor, and be sure to use fabric softener!  Best advice is just never leave a load in the washer, and ALWAYS leave the washer door open to dry thoroughly.  If you do that, you'll be an extremely happy camper!  I can put a week's worth of jeans for three people in one load.....or a weeks worth of bath towels.....no more hauling bedspreads to the laundramat!  (I still haul throw rugs though-just my preference!)  The wash cycles are infinitely adjustable, from steam/sanitary all the way to a quick wash.  Love Em!

To LoyaltyDuped,

I am very sorry that you've had this experience with the service on your front load washer. We never like to see our customers have issues such as what I see here. Unfortunately anything that is manufactured has the possibility of failure, which is why we do offer extended warranties. We hope you wouldn't have need of one, but we will have them available to our customers for situations just like this. We are not the manufacturer so all we can do is offer extended warranties on the products we sell. We would like to see what we can do to help with this situation, however and we should have some options available for you. My name is Brian and I am part of the Sears Cares escalations team. At your convenience, please contact my office via email at searscares@searshc.com and we will be happy to do what we can for you. In the email, please provide a contact phone number and the phone number the washer was purchased under (if different than the contact phone number) and we will call you directly. Also, please provide the screen name (LoyaltyDuped) used to post here for reference to this issue, and we do look forward to talking to you soon.

Thank you,

Brian J.
