LockedSamsung DV219AGW Dryer

Does anyone have the Samsung DV219AGW dryer or the Samsung DV328 AGW dryer?  I am trying to decide on a new dryer and haven't seen any reviews on these.  Is the DV219AGW a new model?

I recently purchased the DV219 gas dryer.  So far am completely satisfied with it and amazed at how fast it dries the clothes.

I have had 2 of these, and had to return them. Both had a hollow drum sound. The first one was pretty quiet for the first day, then we had to listen to bum,bum,bum....bum,bum,bum. the second one had to go back because it got so hot on the side we were afraid to leave it on for very long, or had to use only low setting. So...then tried the 328 model. It is very loud and seems as if they forgot to put any insulating in it. I can hear the clothes all over the house flopping in it. I hate it, but am stuck with it, along with the LOUD,LOUD,LOUD washing machine. It sounds like someone is kicking their feet in water. Can hear it in our 1,700 sq.ft house. Hate it too. $2,000.00 bucks blown!!!

I'm sorry to hear that rosesark had a bad experience. I can tell you that Samsung has a very good reputation for quality products, and a great team of repair technicians who are happy to help in the unlikely event that something goes wrong.

Back to the question posed by db0711: the DV219 and DV328 are very similar - both are 7.3 cubic feet with stainless steel drums and sensor dry technology. The main difference is in the aesthetics, since they are each designed to match a different washing machine (the WF219 and WF328, respectively), so the controls look different, and they're available in different colors, in addition to white. The DV219 has 7 preset drying cycles, 2 options and 4 temperature settings; the DV328 has 9 presets, 4 options and 5 temperature settings.

I hope this helps clarify the differences. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have also had 2 of the DV219's. First one went back due to the pc board going out after having it for 3 weeks. The replacement board that the sears tech installed lasted about 25 minutes.  It also had the thump, thump noise as well. Sears Tech said it was because the weld on the drum was not very good.

The second one was delivered face down into the laundry room which cracked the clear plastic window. It also had the same "thump, thump, thump" from the drum welds. After having the wrong replacement door ordered 2 times and the thumping noise on the second. It went back as well.

Sears tech were very helpful, Sears delivery on the other hand were horrible. Samsung's quality on the 2 dryers I had was nonexsistant.

I'm sorry to hear you've had this experience, JRG440. I don't claim to know what caused the "thumping" but will certainly forward the information to those in authority. The DV219 has been a very popular seller, and what I can say is that issues such as yours are the exception rather than the rule.  Of course, not to discount your experience - as your perception is valuable and valid, but I will be happy to send this up so that the issue you reported can be addressed.  Samsung and Sears are both committed to customer satisfaction. I hope that the service that Sears has provided has resolved this matter for you.
