Ive had my 448 for about 6 weeks I think and Im noticing my brand new white towels are not coming clean . I am using 2 tbs powder and 1/8 cup bleach and some borax with the LONG sanitize cycle and they are not really super white as I would like . Also even with this hot , long cycle the macscara I sometimes get on my towels or washcloths is NOT coming out ? This isnt even waterproof stuff just regular mascara and not even that much of it . Its frustrating me. What am I doing wrong here ?

Another thing I have noticed is since I switched to powder as reccomended there is now a white film on my washer window...........

Has your water been tested by Sears?

It may be on the "hard" side - making cleaning more challenging.

no, I didnt know there was a way to test the water.

I'd suggest trying Oxi-Clean or similar products. Bleach doesn't whiten whites; it whitens stains and yellows white fabrics. Oxi products focus on the stains, rather than damaging fabric (as bleach does).

Sears has some kits that can test for a variety of water conditions, including the hardness of your water.
