Ive been using liquid in my new samsung front loader up till now. Ive only had it a week and when I went to clean out that filter at the bottom where you drain the water it was sudsy is that a sign I was using to much ? I thought I was using 1 tbs but it was actually almost 2.  If I switch over to powder he soap how much do I use still 1 tbs ? or more for powder?

Are you using detergent that has the high efficiency logo on it? If not, you will get excessive suds. Excessive detergent can also cause some suds.

You should only use high efficiency detergent (the logo is visible in the detergent dispenser on your washer), and only as much as the detergent manufacturer recommends on the package. Also, be sure to only add the detergent to the machine's dispenser, not directly into the washtub. This will ensure proper distribution.

You shouldn't really need to drain the washer unless you're taking a long trip or storing the washer.

Im using he detergent. They said you had to drain the tube thing and clean out the filter every couple weeks is that not correct? there is a little trap door on the front of the samsung 448

If I used the amount the manudfacturer rec Id have tons of suds even with he

I read to only use a tbs but I dont know if that translates to powder or if you need more powder.

There's something wrong in this equation. If you use the amount of detergent that the detergent package says to use, you will not get excessive suds. If you're washing towels, you may be seeing suds, as there's a lot of residue from your old sudsy detergent in them. However, other than that, suds will not be an issue.

Is it with towels that you're seeing suds? Or, were you in the habit of overdosing on detergent previously?

I suppose you CAN drain it every couple weeks, but it shouldn't be necessary if you leave the door open when you're done doing laundry. That's recommended by the manufacturer mostly because older generation LG and Samsung-made front-loaders had mildew issues due to various design problems.

the directions say that every 2 weeks you are supposed to open that front latch and drain it and clean out that filter that is down there . Is that not nessesary?

AS for how much soap I was using ...I had a nepturn touch screen front loader for hte last 8 years and I definitly used more than a tablespoon of the he soap I was probaby using 1/4 of the plastic cup that comes with the tide.
