Lockedwater hoses

When the water is filling the tub on my Kenmore 500, the cold water starts out gently, then when the hot water comes in, the hoses start making an off and on whoosing noise, like there is air in the hose. The hoses move in pretty significant lunges which tug on the small diameter water pipes and make them move. The cold water hose has some slack in it, but the hot water hose is taught and makes a 90 degree turn where it is hooked onto the machine. Is this how the machine is supposed to act? Is it hooked up correctly? I'm worried about the tug on the pipes in my older home.

1: Secure all the nearby pipes to walls, ceilings, or joists.

2: Get right-angle hoses for your washer.

3: Make sure both the hot and cold water spigots are turned fully open.

If your last machine was more than 10 years old, you may not be familiar with how automatic temperature control works, but it's normal for the water to turn on and off several times as the washer fills. The washer is working normally, but the hoses and the pipes need to be attended to.

sounds like you could have an air hammer issue...its common in older homes .they sell air hammer arresters that solve the problem...you screw them to the faucets & then screw the hoses to them.it really   solves the problem
