LockedSanitary cycle generates wrinkles

posted on September 10, 2009 at 07:58AM Inappropriate?

Hi

We just purchased a Bosch washer and dryer. The washer has a sanitary cycle but whenever we use it the clothes come out horribly wrinkled and require substantial ironing. The model number is  WFMC5301.

Does anyone have any insights?

Thank you

Steam them in the dryer?

Hi Adam.... thank you for your answer. Then may I presume that if you get, and want to use, the sanitary cycle in a washer you should only buy the steam capable dryer?

Actually, a steam cycle in the dryer is really only to slightly relax wrinkles out of full dry loads, but will have no effect on loads being dried.

What kind of garments are you running the sanitize cycle on?

HI

We are using the sanitize cycle on an array of garments but the wrinkling is a problem for things like dress shirts and hospital scrubs.

Thank you

I wouldn't bother using sanitize on dress shirts. I'd save sanitizing for towels and sheets, and the scrubs. Since scrubs aren't as loose a material as sheets, they will hold wrinkles caused by the hot water and high spin speed, but running them through the dryer afterward should relax out the wrinkles. Try using a lower spin speed in the washer and lower heat setting on the dryer when doing scrubs. And, try washing the dress shirts on Normal cycle Hot/Cold instead of Sanitary. Another option is to run the wrinkle relaxing cycle on the dryer, and throw in the clothes you want to wear for the day. The wrinkles should pretty much disappear. Good luck!
