Everything it fine so far. We have only had it installed for two weeks. My brother and I installed it. It did not come with the outer cover to protect the controls. I haven't addressed that issue yet. Hopefully Sears will trust me and know that I didn't get it and order me one.
We will see.
This water heater really does the job. The internal thermostat does seem very sensitive and turns on the burner after only a gallon of use, but then my old one was very slow to respond so this may not be an accurate opinion. However, the burner does fire up for the appropriate amount of water used and doesn't seem to take long to bring the tank back to normal temps. I installed it myself after balking at the $309 charge for Sears to do it. In my case, it went in with no problems. Overall, this is a good water heater that is manufactured by A. O. An inexperienced person would have trouble installing this unit, but I found it easy to install after slight modifications to the existing piping. The installation instructions could have been written more clearly, but I am pleased with the unit and like the safety features included on it. The unit seems to work well and function properly.
Purchased thinking it was the best available......when hot water ran out after 1 5 minute shower, called for service.......serviceman ststed that the heater could be run at 110vac or 220vac,and that heater was set for 110vac......I later found this to be a lie as it is only able torun at 220vac.........sometimes the hot water lasts for 10 minutes before getting cold, but not very often.will let it sit for 2 hours before it will provide 1 more shower.......very disappointed with Sears/Kenmore.......never again!!!!
Sears gave us a big trade up value on their old 2001 Water Heater, Unbelievable!
Twice the available water and big savings on energy!
Thanks
