Great Value

I've had this unit inexcess of 6 years. It has FAR surpassed my expectations given its price. I always hosed it off when I was done with it and it has always started. I did have to replace the gas line this morning at a cost of $1.63 It is light duty though, as my needs/demands of it have increased it... read full review »

Not recommended

Followed the instruction by using 40to1 mix. Tried starting for a good 10 min. When it started it would die. When opening throttle, it died every time. This is very unusual for Craftsman equipment, but I think there are problems with this line of this line of weed eaters. Returned it with no hassle and... read full review »

I bought this weedeater thinking it would be better than the one I used to have. Needless to say, I'm not impressed with it. First thing I don't like is that I'm only 5' 2" tall, and holding this long shafted weedeater is difficult because I have to hold it much higher than my old one for it to reach the right angle to the ground. It's not so light either, so forget that unless you're a strong person. I noticed that the dual trimmer line tends to get caught up in things and shuts it down very easily. I suppose if you just weedeated around a few flower beds it would be fine, but to get around fences...

Poor Quality

When it ran it worked well and it was more than powerful enough for my needs. The first year I had it, the pull cord snapped. It had a 2 year warranty so I brought it to a local repair shop and they fixed it. The second year I owned it, the unit keep stalling after about 10 minutes of use. The gas mixture was proper and I keep good care of my equipment. I got by that summer but I was very frustrated. Beginning summer #3 I had the same problem with stalling. I threw it out and bought an Echo line trimmer.

WeedEater gas trimmer

Purchased this product at Sears on Saturday, tried to use it on Monday, it would not start. Keep trying and it would not turn over at all. Then when my 14 year old son tried to start it, the trimmer seperated from the actual gas engine and ended up in 2 seperate pieces. I will be returning it to the nearest Sears/K-mart store today, Tuesday for a full refund.

I had a featherlite before, at least 15 year, and I loved it. The F20 is no comparison. The instructions said to use synthetic oil with the gas and I could not start it. After several attempts, I put the usual oil gas mix in it and it started. Oh yeah, it started, but wouldn't stay running.  My husband adusted the idle the best he could, but now I have to run it on 1/2 choke.  Do not buy this weedeater.

Past review is wrong

I had this wacker for 14yrs and never had a problem with it. I will be buying another soon only because I tried to cut more than this wacker is rated for.

Dont Buy!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this, took it home started it up & the line spool would not turn.I realized the shaft was not engaged in the power head,no biggie I just wiggled it so it was engaged & when I went to tighten the allen head screws one was already stripped out & would not tighten.I tightened the other one & went on my merry way weed eating.Well that lasted about 5 minutes & the shaft came loose again! So I loaded it up & went & got my money back.I would not recommend buying this.I would give it less than 1 star but that's the lowest rating you can give.
