DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TRIMMER!!!! However, if you enjoy pulling on the chord 25 times each time you would like to trim your yard, then this is the product for you. I have had it serviced a couple times within the first 24 months of ownership and it is still the single worst grass trimmer I have ever owned.
This trimmer suffers from being underpowered. Tall grass bogs it down, the grass folds over instead of being cut. It helps to keep the line at full length, so the momentum of the line will keep the speed higher to cut better. That causes you to use a lot of line. I don't get more than about 30 minutes of cutting per spoolfull. Forget trying to use this to cut light undergrowth, it just runs out of power, won't cut it and ends up wrapping the stems around the cutting head. The double line makes it difficult to wind line on the spool and sucessfully get the spood back on the shaft. You have to insert...

I have purchased 2 of these weedeaters and each one lasted just 2 years. I just bought a 3rd one and I got the 3 years service warranty so I will see how this works out. They will work fine for about a year then they will get difficult to start and eventually they will not start at all. I have changed the fuel filter, air filter, & spark plug, even took the carburator apart and cleaned it. Nothing helps. I keep buying this product because of my physical size, it is really difficult for me to use the heavier units.
The weedeater featherlite is a light weight weed wacker it doesn't get to heavy to do your whole yard. The price is right for a nice durable , powerful weed wacker. It is a nice addition for yor lawn tools. It is easy to start which is a big plus and has a clear tank so you can easily see how much gas is in it.Would buy again.
My first gas trimmer was a Poulan Twist-N-Edge bought from ******** in 2000. I'd used Weed Eater electric trimmers for 5 years before, and liked them immensely, so I when I finally convinced my mother (I was 15-16 at the time) to switch to a gas model for our vast yard (we'd been using 200 feet of extension cord to trim the yard before that, and I was flat-out tired of lugging the cord around), I went with a trimmer made by Weed Eater's parent company. The trimmer worked great and survived a multi-state move. I sold it to my neighbor when I moved a second time, and it was still running great when...
