weedeater 25cc gas trimmer

When I purchased this it was because my father cancelled our gardener, I was intimidated by a gas machine me being a novice, the first couple of times/lawn sessions I used it it was difficult to start and right away I said a woman or weak person would never be able to use this, having paid less than...

HARD to start

I've had starting problems with this trimmer since day one. This trimmer is hard to start even if you follow directions exactly. I've mixed the fuel/oil per instructions and I still have issues. Occasionally the trimmer dies out and forget "instant start". I have to pull that cord over and over til my...

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TRIMMER!!!! However, if you enjoy pulling on the chord 25 times each time you would like to trim your yard, then this is the product for you. I have had it serviced a couple times within the first 24 months of ownership and it is still the single worst grass trimmer I have ever owned.

This trimmer suffers from being underpowered. Tall grass bogs it down, the grass folds over instead of being cut. It helps to keep the line at full length, so the momentum of the line will keep the speed higher to cut better. That causes you to use a lot of line. I don't get more than about 30 minutes of cutting per spoolfull. Forget trying to use this to cut light undergrowth, it just runs out of power, won't cut it and ends up wrapping the stems around the cutting head. The double line makes it difficult to wind line on the spool and sucessfully get the spood back on the shaft. You have to insert...

efficient and quality product

This was a good deal for a quality weed eater. Easy starts and conservative with fuel.

SST25 weedeater

I have purchased 2 of these weedeaters and each one lasted just 2 years. I just bought a 3rd one and I got the 3 years service warranty so I will see how this works out. They will work fine for about a year then they will get difficult to start and eventually they will not start at all. I have changed the fuel filter, air filter, & spark plug, even took the carburator apart and cleaned it. Nothing helps.                            I keep buying this product because of my physical size, it is really difficult for me to use the heavier units.

The weedeater featherlite is a light weight weed wacker it doesn't get to heavy to do your whole yard. The price is right for a nice durable , powerful weed wacker. It is a nice addition for yor lawn tools. It is easy to start which is a big plus and has a clear tank so you can easily see how much gas is in it.Would buy again.

My first gas trimmer was a Poulan Twist-N-Edge bought from ******** in 2000. I'd used Weed Eater electric trimmers for 5 years before, and liked them immensely, so I when I finally convinced my mother (I was 15-16 at the time) to switch to a gas model for our vast yard (we'd been using 200 feet of extension cord to trim the yard before that, and I was flat-out tired of lugging the cord around), I went with a trimmer made by Weed Eater's parent company. The trimmer worked great and survived a multi-state move. I sold it to my neighbor when I moved a second time, and it was still running great when...

Was a good buy

You can buy this model in store for only $73 bucks.. The stores have plenty and are discontinuing them because they are switching to the curved shaft. I don't like the curved shaft. Got mine in the Dartmouth store on 4/4/10...

weed eater featherlight

I'm not fond of the auto feeder spool since it's too thick to mow the grass down short and even. I wish it came with a slim spool like the other, more expensive models. The only other problem is that I'm 5'10 in. tall and the shaft is short for me. Requiring me to bend down to mow evenly. Hurts the back. All in all the best value trimmer out there. Gets the job done

very unhappy

bought this today at sears, took me 30 minutes to get it to start and then it would only run at half choke....after over 1 hour i decided it just wasn't worth the trouble, put it back in the box and will return it tomorrow...what a shame, weedeater was always a good brand, in fact i've got a older model of this trimmer that is over 10 years old and still runs great.....i guess like everything else they don't build them like they used to

excellent value

While not the best trimmer on market, it is by far the best value out there. Got mine for under $90 and well worth every penny. Going into third season with my acre lot. It mows over anything short of saplings with ease, never even use full throttle. Use 91 octane gas and 50:1 oil mixture, you will not have any problems. Mine starts up 3rd pull everytime including choke. Light weight, powerfull, nicely balance product. Cant beat it for price, this is my second one owned for last 10 years.

1 star

Previous Weedeater last more 10 years. This one wouldn't run unless the choke was on from the start. DOA. Took it back. These little engines used to run good and for a good amount of time. No more.

trimmer

Had the first one of these for over 8 years. It was great. Bought a new one last Fall. It's broken already & I can't get it fixed reasonably. Went to Sears & bought another one anyway. It would not run...new, out of the box. It started fine but you couldn't touch the throttle or it would stop. Looking at a new Stihl-brand trimmer now. Sears current inventory are some very un-balanced machines:( & hard for an older fella to handle.

Great Trimmer

A wonderful trimmer and I have now purchased my second one. Over 8 years of trimming 3 acres as well as family and a 10 acre orchard, I wore it out. I like the light weight, it starts with ease and has enough power for light jobs.
