“New Hospital on the West Side is rated number one by users”
A recent visit to the West Side Hospital calmed all my fears about the quality of medical care here in Rio Rancho. The staff was quick to assess my needs, quick to deliver quality care and attention. Never for a moment did I feel neglected or that I was getting less than top notch treatment.
I have been going to Albuquerque for all of my medical needs because we simply did not have a quality facility here. That meant a minimum of a 45 minute drive on a good, traffic-wise day. Most of the hospitals there are getting older. They are also very, very busy. I or a member of my family were in for long emergency room waits.
But that was not the case when I had my last emergency. You have to know, I like most of you, wait until the last possible second to have to visit any hospital. Such was the case with me. I just did not think I needed a hospital. Of course I could take care of myself as I grew weaker all day long until I could not move without assistance. Even then, I insisted I was fine. Family could see otherwise and literally forced me into a car drove me the 10 minutes to our new hospital.
It took less than 5 minutes to be taken care of. I spent most of the night in the emergency actually being cared for - not in a hallway, not in a chair waiting. I saw doctors, nurses, had extras, was treated, checked, rechecked, administered medication. I actually got better and got follow up care. I was and am favorably impressed.
Westsiders - we have a real state of the art hospital!
