serviceable no frills dishwasher, one flaw

Our tenant installed this dishwasher for us. It's a pretty good, open space design, not too noisy, dishes get clean. The biggest problem is the gizmo attached to the bottom of the top rack. There's nothing stopping you from loading large plates in the center part of the bottom rack and pushing the rack... read full review »

You have to buy more accessories

This dishwasher is about what you would expect for the money. We tried to find something inexpensive to get us by, and this was on sale for just under $300. Then we had to buy the power cord separately, which was only available online, which required us to pay shipping, which ended up running a total... read full review »

Way too small! Dinner plates don't fit.

We did not even get a chance to see if this dishwasher does a good job, because my dishes won't fit in the bottom rack. This dishwasher is WAY too small. This may seem silly, but take a dinner plate with you to the store and try it out before you buy. Thankfully, we have a really great Sears salesperson who is helping us make an exchange. Now we are spending more $, but at least our dishes will fit!

We tried the ***************** "********" and had 14 service calls on it.  Yes, 14.  That's another story, but suffice to say that we were finally given a store credit to replace it.  We decided we better go for the national brand instead of the store brand so as to not have to deal again with the warranty department of our last dishwasher.  So we traded our lemon for this one when we could have got one worth $400 more at no additonal cost to us.

Why?  Well, the lesson we learned through the school of hard knocks was that new dishwashers like our former Energy Star compliant Kenmore...

loud but efficient

My home is an open concept home and I was told when I bought it that this machine was "whisper quiet" . Well not so much but it definately gets my dishes clean. so you take the pros with the cons I guess.

Loud Dishwasher

This is a decent dishwasher for the price. It gets the dishes clean. If you leave the silverware basket on the door, they may not dry. If anyone thinks this dishwasher is quiet, they must of had some really bad ones in the past. I had a 17 yr old Kenmore that was more quiet. This model is loud (platic inside not metal). Very loud right after the main wash cycle (grinding sound). The door does rattle. If you are on a budget, it is worth buying. If your washer is near a TV, forget about hearing the TV. If you have the money, spend up to get a really good model.

installation

My dishwasher is being installed right now and the installer informed me that I have to pay an additional $70.00 for a power cord and hardware. Sears should include all costs when purchasing.

Great for the price

I am very happy with this dishwasher. It works better than a more expensive unit we used to own. Even with having hard water, the dishes come out virtually spotless. It is a great product for the money.

Best Ever

I have only had the dishwasher installed since Feb. 13 09 and so far it is the best. Very quiet and gets my dishes sparkling... The last dishwasher we had sounded like it was going to jump thru the kitchen wall and start running down the road.

whirlpool dishwasher

I bought this dishwasher 5 months ago. I use to have a kenmore and am sorry that i did not replace with the kenmore. So disapointed. But you get what you pay for. This does not dry the dishes. I have to dry the dishes when I empty the dishwasher. If you on a budget and really need a dishwasher I recommend this but if you can afford to spend more, go for it.

Returning this one!

Replaced a low end 8 year old Maytag with this Whirlpool and we are very dissappointed. Due to space issues we could not accomodate a "tall" model and the selection for the "short" models was very limited. This model holds fewer dishes. The racks are poorly designed. I truly question if the design engineers actually tested loading a set of dinnerware into these racks! Unless you are cleaning only flat plates forget about loading a lot of dishes. Our pasta bowls and soup bowls simply do not fit well and they are about as plain a style of dinnerware as you can get. The silverware rack on the door... read full review »

Good but still not the greatest

This washer has received a good review for it's quality of build and recommendation by other consumer websites. While agree with most of the ratings on other sites, I will say, it is still a $300-$400 dishwasher and does not compare to the $800+ models that run quieter and have stainless steel interiors. I think it is a good value for the money and would buy it again for our rental as we did. Our tenants said it was much quieter than the one we replaced and it looks a lot more modern in stainless vs. black. Good rating from me and the other consumer sites, I give it a thumbs up, although the model... read full review »

Great dishwasher for the price

I purchased this dishwasher after our 8 year old GE finally kicked the bucket. This unit is incredibly quiet compared to the old one. Dishes come out very clean and dry every time. I am very happy with this dishwasher and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a modestly priced appliance.

Whirlpool dishwasher

I love this dishwasher. It's quiet and thoroughly washes and dries everything, even plastic ware in the top part. I don't have to hand dry anything, like I did with my old one. It was a great value for the price. There is absolutely nothing I don't like about this dishwasher. Also, the sales person at Sears was very informative and was a great help. The installation went smooth and all in all it was a good experience.
