Whirlpool 24" Electric Self-Clean Wall Oven RBS245PR —

This oven is very attractive and cooks things well. However, the first (and so far only) time I used the self-clean feature, the oven burnt a fuse. The repairman said that I did not need to clean it as long as I had. I had set the self-clean feature for about 30 min. LESS than the recommended time. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem. Also, even though the oven is brand new, it needs to be re-calibrated. According to my oven thermometer, and by the necessitated shortened baking times, it is heating just about 10 degrees hotter than the temperature gauge says it is.

After the second self cleaning I found that a fuse had blown. The display looked normal, but the oven didn't heat up. Did I buy a piece of junk for hundreds of dollars?
