Our old GE Profile gas oven refused to heat up either in bake or broil mode and so we were forced to find a new oven--fast. Fortunately, Sears had this oven on sale and I bought it online. The online purchase was a mistake since I thought I had set up the conversion to propane gas along with the delivery but I found out later there was a problem with the website in getting this handled. I had to contact my propane gas company to send someone out 4 days after the oven was delivered but everything was taken care of fairly easily and inexpensively. In the future, I'll buy gas appliances in the store.
This oven is cheaper than the GE and doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it warms up quickly and the Accubake cooking system is very efficient. This oven also has the same designated high-output and low-output stovetop burners but every burner is adjustable and I can get a lower simmer flame on this oven than the old one. The burners are smaller than on the GE but that results in better cooking efficiency. The broiler/bake flames are adjustable, too. Everything seems to cook faster in the oven and on the stovetop with the Whirlpool, which saves us money in propane gas. It also has a self-clean feature as well as a clock and timer. What it didn't come with was a broiler/roasting pan, which is a strange place to cut costs. Even though we have an old one we can use, I purchased a pan from Maytag, since it's the same exact one that used for Whirlpool but is out of stock through them.
My wife loves this oven, it was a very smart purchase. It only comes with a one-year warranty but we decided not to pay for the extended warranty, gambling on the Whirlpool's reputation for building reliable appliances.
I highly recommend this oven, but if you run propane gas in your home it's wiser to talk to buy from a sales associate in the store instead of purchasing it online.
