Good basic stove at a good price

Spent months researching stoves and settled on this one. We were electric users for 25 years, but wanted to switch to gas because electrics put out such high levels electro magnetic radiation. Research is showing increasingly that this may be a health risk. A consumer magazine indicated that Hotpoint/GE,... read full review »

Most Helpful Critical Review

I bought this range about a year ago. The self clean function broke 6 times. I had the repair people out each time, and it would work once before breaking again. They just exchanged it for a new range and darned if the new one wouldn't work after the first cleaning 3 weeks ago. Now I have to stay home...

Great Stove

I bought this stove for a rental apt that I have. My tenant loves it.

Whirlpool Stove Rocks

I just purchased this stove to replace an old GE gas stove.  I had the GE for several years and always ended up with either burned or raw food, and had to cook everything at a different temperature for different amounts of time than what was suggested- it was a complete guessing game!  When I finally convinced my husband that we needed a new stove, I looked at several other brands.  My family loves Whirlpool and suggested I try it.  I didn't want a stove with tons of options that would self clean and do a song and dance- I needed it to cook.  I have absolutely loved this stove!  My food comes...

Love it!

This was purchased 2 weeks ago as a replacement for my old stove, which the ignitor broke.

This is the first gas oven I've veer had that heats up evenly and doesn't burn the one side of what i'm trying to bake. For some reason. this one seems a little easier to clean too.. spills wipe right off the top without having to scrub it with a SOS pad.

The installation crew was amazing.. they came right in and hooked it up and even showed me where the emergency shut off valve is.. in case of a fire.

Update to earlier review

The oven is still working great and we're very happy with it. However, be sure to keep the oven door closed when broiling. I left it open, as recommended by other brands, and partially melted two of the stovetop burner knobs. What's especially irksome is that Sears will not replace the POWERBURNER knob with the same knob. Instead it sends a generic knob. I think this is pretty cheap of either Whirlpool or Sears to not stock this part.  Other than this lapse in judgment, the oven is still the best cooking oven we have ever owned. It holds its internal temperature accurately and at length. Food...

My new gas range

I agree with the previous people who reviewed their new range. It's perfect for me and probably the nicest range I've ever owned and yet, it's the least expensive. Nice job Whirlpool, I'm not going to get into the details because they are listed and everything works perfectly well on this range. I actually enjoy cooking on it and that probably says a lot coming from a single man.
