Great washer for the price. I can wash many towels or jeans at a time, and my king comforters. Handles anything I put in there. I would definitely recommend this washer.
There are a lot of different settings. Great since I have a mechanic husband who gets VERY dirty a 6 year old who plays hard, a 6 month old baby and a dog. Does a good job with stains. I really feel like my clothes are clean when I take them out of there. We do a lot of laundry around here and the washer keeps up with ease.
Very, very quiet too, I have to lift the lid sometimes to make sure it is going because I can't...
read full review »This is a solid machine with great features and good price. The "lid" situation is pretty clearly marked all over the instructions---keep it shut while it's working! It's the way it's made! So, that's what I do, and of course it works great. And, it's quiet.
The last Whirlpool lasted a good twelve years and then the one and only repair was pretty darn close to the price of a new machine, so I took the plunge b/c it was on sale and would do the job well. No complaints, only good things to say.
The machine was working great, then water started leaking out from under the machine; had the machine almost 90 days. Called the 800 number and they said they would send someone out to fix it and it be no charge since it was still under the warranty (1 Year). They came out and said the seal around the pump was leaking so they put a new pump and seal on the machine. I'm hoping nothing else happens or if it does it happens before the 1 year warranty is up.
I've run about a dozen loads in my new Washer. It seems to do an excellent job of cleaning. Love the fabric softener on and off switch. Some may hate that you have to remember to turn it on for the fabric softener to discharge. The capacity of this machine seems huge compared to our older model which was a "Heavy Duty Super Capacity" 14 year old Whirlpool. The only downfall is that this machine seems very loud compared to the old one. Maybe I'm just used to a really quiet washer and this is actually an average noise-making machine. Other then a little excess noise, absolutely no complaints....
read full review »If you want control of, and knowledge about, what your machine is doing, avoid the Whirlpool WTW57ESV and any of the other "load sensing" machines -- unless they allow "add a garment." Once you set your dials and start the machine, you cannot monitor anything. You cannot find out the water temperature; you cannot view the agitator action; you cannot add your detergent to the water, you cannot get water from the tub to add to the fabric softener; you can just stare at a white cube and listen to its noises. This is patently absurd, and if I hadn't failed to note those features when my wife and...
read full review »I purchased this machine in April 2009 and the repair person just left about 10 minutes ago for the 2nd time in a month. The biggest problem I have is the machine will not fill. What happens is the machine "hums" and then will not fill with water. The repair person has come out twice and "jiggled" some things under the "hood" and it starts working again. Maybe because this thing shakes violently when spinning...
I agree with one of the previous reviews - the water level is no longer in your control. You waste an AWFUL lot of water if you have a small load - the machine will fill all the...
read full review »I have had the machine for about 2 months, replacing a 15 yr old machine. I like the various options for Casual, Reguar. Hand Wash, etc. I washed 4 sweaters on the Hand Wash setting and really appreciated how they came out, without all the fuss of hand washing. One comment I think it's important to note that it really makes a difference which settings you use. The Casual setting will not clean as efficiently as the Regular. (On my old machine, the only difference between "Permanent Press" and "Regular" seemed to be the spin cycle.) The Heavy Duty setting with Normal wash really does the job...
read full review »I spent a considerable amount of time comparing various washer styles, especially front vs. top loaders. My overall goal was a simple machine, with a good selection of useful options, large capacity. Basically I wanted something that (hopefully) will be a workhorse and will last for a very long time. My setup is off of our kitchen and family rooms, and is open to the rest of the house. So yes, I hear the machine. It is quieter than my previous maytag set of 15 yrs. The spin is fairly vigorous, so I did secure it to the floor after leveling, and that has virtually eliminated excess noise....
read full review »I was so excited about buying this washing machine at first. It was going to help with the water bill and was still so big. But what I did not know is that the water level only comes up about 6 inches in the washing machine. I found this very hard to believe that it would clean my clothes and it didn't. I gave it sometime, used it for a couple of weeks but finally when I washed a pair of sweat pants and a piece of paper that was in the pocket came out intact and perfectly legible that was it for me. I toke it back the next day. Very disappointed in the washer.
I received this machine on October 26, 2009. Since then the Auto Load Sensor electronic circuit board has broke twice. The last time it took Sears eleven days to send a repair person out to fix the unit. The machine along with Sear's service have been a disappointment. When they first delivered the unit the delivery truck cracked a portion of our driveway also. Thank you Sears.
I returned a Samsung front loader after 3 months of not getting my clothes clean, and purchased this washer. Even using the auto water level function, this washer gets enough water to clean an average load. Also rinses very well. The high speed spin cycle is relatively quiet, and clothes come out as dry as the Samsung (which spins at 1300 RPM) Wow! It has a huge drum, and full height agitator. It's not as pretty as the front loaders, and doesn't have all the LED lights, but, it is a much better washer. The only negative I have found is; if you open the lid during the wash cycle it fills...
read full review »I have nothing bad I can say about this washer. My last washer was a Kitchen-Aid and was about 14 years old.I probably could have held onto that washer for another year, maybe two but it was getting a bit loud for my taste. This Whirlpool washer does everything it Whirlpool says it will do.I am not one to lift the lid to check on the water level or add something so some of the issues reported by othrs does no apply here.I have purposely loaded this washer with small, medium, and large loads just to hear if the water levels are different.I have noticed the water level sensor does seem to work.I also...
read full review »My wife and I (both fresh out of college and married 4 and a half months ago) bought our first home a couple months ago and decided to buy a new washer and dryer to replace the 30+ year old set that my parents had previously handed down to me. We got this washer and its corresponding dryer on sale, spending under $1000 for the pair (as compared to the front-loading "high-efficiency" units which cost double in many cases). Since that time, my wife and I have done several loads of laundry and can't believe how well this machine works! We read previous reviews about how opening the lid during...
read full review »The reason I decided to go with a Whirlpool is because my Maytag washer that I had for 6 years decided to give out on me. So here I am looking at this Whirlpool washer with some great reviews and I decided to go for it. Well to my surprise the machine is very very loud especially with a Super Load. Another feature that I found annoying is if by chance you forget to put something into the load, you open the lid throw your item in and now it becomes an even bigger load, so the trick now is push the button in open the lid throw your item in then shut the lid and pull the button back out.....
