We thought maybe we had left a shipping strap or something in place. Nope - this thing is just noisy. The agitator (or roller as it is called) is clunky soundy. It is a relief when it finally shuts up. Others had said it was quiet and it has a noise reduction feature. I am not experiencing anything that makes me think either of these are true...
We haven't had a new washer and dryer in a long time. The red matching dryer for this Whirlpool 4.0 top-loading washer is, in comparison, whisper quiet. I am hoping that I just get used to it, but as for first impressions (just got it last night), I am not impressed. My husband thought he was funny when he said "take-off in 4-3-2-1...". Ha Ha :-(
We are hoping to get used to the auto-sensor water filling feature. We are impressed with all the options and features.
