Zenith Digital TV Tuner w/ Analog Pass-Through —
I just picked this up yesterday and with the government $40 coupon only had to pay $9.99. I also bought an indoor Philips UHF/VHF antenna for $14.99 and hooked them both up last night in minutes to a very old 13" Sony analog color TV. I'm EXTREMELY pleased as the picture quality is outstanding and I'm now able to receive far more channels than ever before. Also, this TV never had a remote control and the converter box comes with one that provides me with convenience and features (menus, picture orientation, time, favorite channels, etc) never available to me before. Since I just bought it, I can't comment on durability, but can't see why it would be an issue. It also has a nice light on the front of the unit to tell you if it's on or off (red=off, blue=on). I'm planning to try hooking it up to a 52" big screen Mitsubishi HDTV to see how the reception comes in on a bigger screen. I'd love to dump cable TV and go back to the days of FREE television. Only thing is I wouldn't get my sports channels, ESPN and The Golf Channel... Only slight drawback might be that the remote is fairly limited compared to most others these days. Definitely a great product though for bringing back to life an old TV. Glad I didn't throw it away. Highly recommended!!!
