In response to Adam Q's comments on the Sears staff/rebate center subcontractor employees communicating effectively:

Many on the rebate center staff in Wilmington DE are incomprehensible. You are soooo wrong. Some of the Pakistanies and Indonesians I've spoken with are more intelligible than the staff here in the U.S., Adam. Why any company is still using staff that cause friction as far as communication is beyond me.

Even worse, why are we still customers of Sears? I say we have the power to bring them down by shopping elsewhere. I send these comments/issues to other blogs so the word is getting out there. Hopefully, their sales are being impacted and they will either respond appropriately or go under. Why fight them via consumer advocacy groups or SAG's/court/arbitration when we collectively have the power to band together and be heard? Let's all take acton by taking a walk to their competitors...Lowes, HHGregg, Best Buy, etc. Who's with me?

OK. Here goes. I am a member of the MySears community. I have already posted this issue on several other blogs in addition to the Sears MySears community site, and will continue to do so until it is resolved or I die. I can only hope that someone from Sears responds appropriately, realizing that in some small way we consumers will hurt your bottom line.

The online submission for a rebate is very obtuse and indicates that by submitting online you can expect a quick turnariound. That is obviously wrong or a lie. The rebate center information online states to expect a four week turnaround. Again, that is obviously wrong or a lie. When you get a garbled speaking staffer in DE online, they indicate an eight week minimum turnaround. Do you wonder why your company is disappearing? Get a clue and get on this issue with a permanent workable improvement. What you have now is just making us all angry...angry enough to buy elsewhere.

As far as getting a new machine on the 4th call with the Master protection, think again Adam. I just went through it last year. But I was told I'd get a $500 voucher towards the purchase of a new one. Their techs kept coming out and either not fixing it at all, or half-***** patching the problem, which would get it running for a week or so before breaking again. I kept calling the service agreement department, which by the way seems to have been outsourced to India, and speaking to someone who was hard to understand to begin with and who
would do nothing but verbatimly quote from a script which said that only if the techs say that there is no way the machine can be fixed do I get my $500. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they'd read the same script. This went on for months of them sending out one tech after another until one was finally able to fix it. But I have four kids. Do you have any idea how much laundry I do in this house and how much it all cost me at the laundrymat? It would have been cheaper to just give up and buy a new washer. But then again that's what they want, isn't it? Sufficit to say, I did not renew me service agreement went it expired.
