Mondays are always a little tough, but the Monday after a long weekend is the worst. I think I've finally cured my "case of the Monday's" by thinking about Christmas.
I'm excited to spend a lot of time with my family, bake delicious sweets, and watch Home Alone about 100 times.
Oh and not to mention: presents! I was able to bear the Black Friday crowd and got some good things, but I am by no means done shopping. I get a bit of a thrill waiting until the last minute..we'll see what happens this year.
In the meantime, I'll be listening to Christmas music and possibly buying my first Christmas tree for my tiny apartment. :)

As an avid Chicago Sports fan, a new season brings on a new set sports teams to root for. And as a die-hard Cubs fan, you better believe that I am excited to be done with baseball for the year!
Football: nothing goes hand-and-hand better than Fall & Football. I know everyone has an opinion between college and professional football, but I like them both. My college team is the University of Illinois’ Fighting Illini and obviously my favorite NFL team is the Chicago Bears. Both teams have had a challenging year, but there is still time to improve!
Basketball: sometimes it is hard to believe that basketball is a fall sport as the NBA finals don’t end until June! I’ve always enjoyed watching (and sometimes playing) basketball. Especially growing up watching Michael Jordan dominate…let me tell you, it was pretty awesome.
Hockey: a sport I have only recently gotten into. Perhaps it is because I went to my first professional hockey game just last year? Or maybe it’s because the Blackhawks and Redwings rivalry gets more intense every year? Whatever the reason, I’m looking forward to watching and going to some games this fall/winter.

November? Wow! I can't believe how fast 2009 has gone by!
Even though I'm not a fan of cold weather, I'm excited for the next two months: lots of family time, a few days off work, and Holiday parties of course. I'm thinking about planning an Ugly Christmas Sweater party...should be great fun!
What are you most excited for this Holiday Season?
Ohhh and in case you're wondering how my costume turned out (see last entry) check out a picture in the photos section of my profile!
Posted on Nov 05, 2009Halloween is a few short days away, but luckily I have my costume ready!
I got a bit lucky on this one, I found a hidden treasure in my parents basement this weekend...Cleopatra and Julius Caesar costumes. My mom made these gems about 25 years ago and my parents wore them when they were my age! My boyfriend and I tried them on, and the fit perfectly and they are in great condition!
Now I'm excited to plan how I will do my hair/makeup. Any suggestions? I think I want to do bright blue/green eye makeup and I'll probably just wear my hair straight.
Do you have your costume ready?
Posted on Oct 27, 2009It was nearly impossible for me to get out of bed this morning. My bed was so warm and my apartment was SO cold. It actually reminded me that winter, and Christmas are just around the corner.

Hi everyone!
I've been on MySears for a while now, but realized I never properly introduced myself. My name is Amanda and I work for SHC out of Hoffman Estates. I've been with the company for over a year, and I'm lucky enough to work in one of the most fun departments ---> TOYS!
I grew-up in the Chicagoland area, I went to school at the University of Illinois at Champaign, and now I live downtown. I love to spend time with my family & friends, try new things, travel, read, work, and watch movies.
Feel free to drop a comment at any time, I'd love to hear ways we can be innovative with toys!
