Shop Fox Shop Fox W1671 Benchtop Mortising Machine
I spent a lot of time shopping for a benchtop mortiser. I looked at the Powermatic, Jet, Delta, Craftsman, and Grizzly before buying the Shop Fox. Since the first machine I looked at was the Powermatic, it was natural to compare all of the others against that standard.
I have to admit, I had a hard time not swing back to the Powermatic after looking at all of the other machines, at least until I looked at the Shop Fox. What initially attracted me to the W1671 was the same thing that I liked in the Powermatic - a 3/4HP motor vs the 1/2HP motor that's on all of the other machines. What was killing...
