Yes, all of the models this year - so far, and that I'm aware planned for 2010 - are all Edge-Lit, rather than baclit LCD. Precision dimming is executed through the entirety of the picture. I may have been confused with "local dimming", which is a LED backlit technology that Edge-Lit can't replicate. But precision dimming allows the panel to get really dark blacks and vibrant colors.
