Jimi~That is cool that you are a hunter and a fisherman. I never have hunted black bear, but I hear in PA and NY that they are quite an adventure. I feel less remorse getting a fish then a white tail or bear, but I do know the overpopulation. I got that problem with the Coyote. I snared me a 75 lb one a few weeks back and there getting bigger, stronger and more brazen. Never had bear meat, but if I got one, I know what to do with the meat and how to carve up an animal. I bet the bear meat is real good because they get all fat for winter, and when hunting season opens I bet they carry quite a load. Would love to know the local tricks on baggin black bear. I just might try it. I like my 7 mm rifle for stuff that big, I like an accurate shot to the heart or lungs for a humane kill. You like your 30/30 the best for bear? Thanks D
