Hurricane Gustav came through with no wind. But, it was a big rain maker...five inches. Since we're atop the second highest hill in the county, no problem. But, when Ike came up from Texas, it packed 35 MPH winds, and five inches of rain. We lost power for two days. When one loses power in the woods, it cuts off water, because we're on a well. So, I'm glad the power came back when it did. My short term goal is to get a generator (like a couple of my neighbors). How's the new dog?
